These strips are advertised as being Pure Nickel and they are ! I recently used them to re-plate some small motorcycle parts and the results were excellent.A comment regarding: "These can't be pure nickel, they create to much black precipitate in an electrolyte solution."In my opinion, based on my own experience, this is likely due to voltage being too high.

The good, received 100 units with good dimensional tolerances (100 x 10 x 0.15 mm)The bad:1) Mass is too low, came in at 117g for 100 strips, should be ~133.5g (8.85 g/cm3 for nickel vs ~7.8g/cm3 for steel). Verified 100 unit count and dimensions. I even tried to maximize the density by undersizing dimensions in calculations, not even close, would have to make up difference of 16 strips!2) Dremel test revealed sparks

I recently procured the U.S. Solid Pure Nickel Strip pack for a custom battery pack project, and I must say, these strips nearly hit the bullseye. The 99.6% pure nickel composition is admirable, ensuring minimal resistance and optimal conductivity, which is crucial for maintaining the battery pack’s performance. The dimensions, 0.15x6x50mm, are just about perfect for my 18650 cells, providing a good surface area for spot welding. Speaking of which, the spot welding process was fairly smooth with these strips, forming strong and reliable connections without much hassle. The pack of 50 pcs is a good bargain and provided me with enough material for my project with some to spare for future endeavors. However, one minor gripe I had was with the packaging; a few strips were slightly bent upon arrival, although it didn’t affect the functionality or the welding process. The U.S. Solid Pure Nickel Strips are a solid choice for anyone delving into DIY battery pack projects. They deliver on conductivity, ease of use, and value for money, which are the key attributes one would look for in nickel strips. Docking a star for the packaging hiccup, but other than that, these strips are a worthy investment for your battery projects. Highly recommended!

I don't have experience with the nickle plated products yet but I took my Dremel to this piece you see in the picture and seen maybe 1 or 2 sparks the whole time grinding. (Maybe a half min) I think most of the reviews are correct on this product. It's the real deal! Thanks!

Good quality nickel strips. Confirmed nickel with 48 hour salt water bath with no rust and no sparks with rotary tool high speed grinding wheel. Pure nickel is ferromagnetic and will stick to magnets, testing with magnets is not a correct testing method.

Worked well. I have been decomposing the strips to make Nickel Acetate for plating purposes. There's a little bit of smut left when the terminal erodes, but probably only a couple of percent of the weight. I never checked the dimensions, but the material is acceptable for my purposes.

I found these strips of a high good quality. I ordered these and some similar ones on eBay. These one didn't develop any rust when I tested both with a sample submerged for a couple days in salt water after having scratched them with a screwdriver. I'm not an expert but I found this tip around on the internet to discover if the nickel is pure or is only a coating.

OK, so I ordered this for my physics students to use for a type of heat engine in which the ferromagnetic properties of nickel were exploited. By heating up the nickel, you can make its magnetic properties diminish until it cools off again. The video they watched called for an actual nickel, which is only nickel plated. That did not work. So I ordered these strips and they worked GREAT.
