Majority of the USB dongle like these have HDMI header, my speical occation requires me to use a USB C to VGA adaptor for some very old monitor troubleshooting the system i have at work, the unit works without any issue, however the VGA is stricly design for one port use, other ports display dont have enough power when using the VGA, so if needed to use DP port or HDMI ports, the VGA port can not be used at the same time, but it does exactly what i needed it for , and when i am not using the VGA Port. All other ports act as regular hub.

I recently purchased the USB-C docking station to monitor adapter for my laptop and three monitors, and after testing it out, I wanted to share my initial thoughts. The device works as intended, allowing me to connect my laptop to a monitor and the laptop stand. However, it does feel a bit cheap, with a metallic fake type of feel to it.Currently, I'm using one of the two I purchased with my laptop, and it’s working fine for my current setup. I’ve also purchased two additional monitors and a monitor stand, so I’ll be testing the full three-monitor setup soon. I plan to update my review after I’ve had the chance to test the setup with the new monitors.Additionally, I bought a second docking station for my desktop computer (a Dell OptiPlex 790). It’s an older computer, so I wanted to extend its productivity with the ability to connect three monitors. I'm still waiting for my new monitors to arrive, but I believe the USB-C docking station should be compatible with them.So far, the product is working as expected, but I’ll update the review once I’ve fully set up the system and tested everything. Overall, I’m pleased for now, and I’ll continue testing and report back once everything is fully set up.

Bought these because my 2016 mac only had 2 ports. it works really well including the usbc to charge my laptop and also connect with a HDMI cable to a monitor. Good quality too.

I bought this specifically to extend display across 3 monitors (without using the actual laptop display). Hooked everything up, works great but unit became extremely hot after just an hour of use. I immediately disconnected 2 of the monitors plugged into 1 HDMI & the DP port so only 1 HDMI port is being utilized. Since doing that it no longer overheats. I am not sure why it became so hot, but definitely don’t recommend using it for 3 monitors like it says it can handle.
