USBポートにロックする仕組みの様ですが、毛ほどもひっかかりもしません。内部に端子が存在しないおかげか、むしろ普通のUSBを引き抜くよりもかんたんに抜けてしまいます。購入は絶対におすすめしません。

I purchased this cable lock for use at college to secure my laptop to my desk. It gets pretty much daily use, and it works quite well. It is definitely not the most secure thing, it can be ripped out of the USB port with a very sharp tug. For most situations though, it will keep the laptop secure. The cable is pretty thin and could easily be cut, but I am not very worried about it. In terms of use, it is very easy to lock and unlock this lock, much easier than the Kensington lock that I am using for my other laptop. The key fits in well and provides a solid click when unlocked. Locking is super simple as well, and it is pretty simple to tell which way is the correct way. Overall this is a decent laptop lock that is very easy to use, but it could be a lot more secure.

I am delighted to report that the one I have got works like a dream. Plugs in to USB, click and it's locked. The only tip I have is make sure the "flower" is pointing upwards.

This is in response to some of the negative reviews. It is possible that some of you may have received a bad batch. Because I am not able to verify any one of the negative reviews - well except, perhaps, ease of use. It can be confusing. But the grip is amazing. And at least for me no matter how much I tried to break it loose, it won't budge at all.I rarely write reviews, but this time I had to write one. This is an amazing product for its price.

It broke as soon as I tried to use it. The markings aren’t clear as to which side is up. If you do it wrong, it comes out easily. The key mechanism spins. Total waste of money, time, and effort.UPDATE: There is a flower-like icon, to show which side is up. When I first received it, and had it up, it would not work. Now, after relaxing from getting so mad, it appears to work. Despite this, I do not trust. If you put it on the wrong way, it comes out, and I am afraid it will be a hassle again. I still would not recommend. My computer is almost 5 years old, so this is fine. If you computer has any value, invest a little more, or don't waste your time with a lock. You have to carry it around, because locks don't stop robbers, they only discourage them.

Today somebody ran into the cafe I was sitting at and literally tried to yank it off my table before giving up and running away. If you use it properly (insert it with the right side facing up, push whole thing in all the way, and secure it properly by pushing the button in all the way) it works. IT REALLY WORKS.

After having this a short time I discovered that a few times I thought I was locking my computer it was not securely in the USB slot. Finally, the most recent time I inserted the lock I have not been able to take it out of my computer with the key. I’m about to have to manhandle it out ( which should be a big clue to anybody who might want to buy this that it’s not actually an effective lock :-) or call a professional and pay money to be able to travel with my own laptop again :-) frustrating.....

I've just unpacked this lock and tried it at my desk. I was a bit hesitant given the reviews that the lock can easily be pulled out. What I've found is that there is a right side up and an upside down. If I inserted the lock in a USB slot with the seam of the lock facing down (and the open side up) and pushed the button in sometimes the button would depress and catch and sometimes not. However, even when the button caught the lock could easily be pulled out of the slot. However, with the seam facing up and the openings facing down the button catches readily and the lock feels very firmly attached to my laptop. Not giving it 5 stars because the notice on the instructions appears at the end where it can be easily overlooked. It should be the very first information given.I tried insert this lock into a USB extension cable (i.e. not a Mac laptop) and when inserted "correctly" it would not catch. As indicated on the packaging, this is a Mac laptop specific lock.** Update after use in the wild. Reducing to 2 stars for two reasons:(1) Difficulty in attaching: my poor thumb! fingernail cracked after repeated depressing of the button to attach the lock.(2) Difficulty in detaching: (a) when the key is inserted to the expected depth I did not feel the expected resistance while turning the key. It can just spin and spin. (b) Seemingly turning the key didn't release the lock. It turns out that the key turn was sufficient but the metal tang that hooks inside the USB port didn't release, hence the lock couldn't be detached. The solution turns out to be wiggling the lock body up and down & sometimes tapping to get the tang to release. Disappointed.

I was pleased with how well it works. Sure, someone can probably pry it off, but it's a good solution for leaving your laptop in an area where someone having to use some brute physical effort to steal it would cause people to take notice. Let's me feel comfortable regularly leaving my laptop unattended for something like a bathroom break in populated public spaces like conferences, coffee shops, libraries, etc. Probably not good enough to provide protection in places where there's privacy for someone to brute force it -- but I doubt that was the point of this.
