The meter is great and the time it took to get to me was impressive

I ordered a ripley light meter and it was a 2 week lead time. When the 2 weeks came, they extended it to 4 weeks, so that had me in a bad spot.I tried other vendors and nothing available quickly. I found this on Amazon for next day shipping. It arrived on time and it works. Seriously; it works. It has different wave lengths to measure and everything. I’m impressed with it.Now, how long it lasts I’m not sure. I’ll update later if an issue. But so far, it serves its purpose.

I bought this one and another one at the same time and I'm happier with the other one. This one was $13 more, but has a narrower power range and fewer features. The manual is bad engrish, so its guessing game to figure out how it works. The SC adapter does not fit the visual fault locator. And in fact nothing does, so you just have to shove the end of your fiber in the hole and hope something goes through to help identify fibers. Regular OTDR adapters do not fit this meter. It comes with an SC adapter but only works on the power meter side.Overall if you are looking for good tools, this is not it. If you are looking for cheap tools that are good enough to get the job done, this is it but there are cheaper better ones on Amazon so still keep looking.

Bought this for my job, and had no way of tracing out fiber runs. This did exactly what i needed and saved me a lot of time!

It's a very simple product. The directions are surprisingly decent. I was expecting very bad English directions. The display is bright and clear. The quality of the casing is fairly rugged. I ran some fiber tests with it and I had no issues. The one thing that I wish it did have is adapters for the light emitting port. The adapter it comes with is only meant for the measuring detection port. No biggie.

This power meter is great for small works that need a simple power measurement. It's easy to use, and has a lot of wavelength to work with. The screen light is good, but has poor view angles.

This device is great. I got this for use in my optics lab for fiber coupling free space lasers into a fiber. It combines the visible laser source and power meter into one device. While slightly annoying to switch the fiber between the two, having to carry one device only is convenient. The power meter is not very well calibrated (measured to be ~30% off from a calibrated ThorLabs meter), and only goes up to something like 3mW. However, it has very nice low light sensitivity and can start working down to 2-3 nW. I've used this at 460 nm, 850 nm and 1450 nm and it will give you a relative reading at all three wavelengths.Overall, a very good device for helping with fiber coupling. Buying another one today.
