First try with these the hole for the hex wrench stripped as soon as there was any resistance. Basically became a circle instead of a hexagon. Then when I tried pliers to get thing out the top not in the wood tore right off. The metal on these is way to soft/thin. Wish I could return them.

These fit into MDF or plywood if the appropriate pilot hole is drilled.I used these without any failures on a subwoofer enclosure to mount components to the outside. These will most likely not work well with hardwoods such as red oak or hickory, but most furniture is not made out of hardwoods.

Save your hard earned cash. Quality is bad. Very weak and crack easily.

These allow for a lot of side to side movement that the cheaper brass inserts don't have

You can tell these are made from really thin material. I couldn't get them started without stripping the hex on top of the insert.

Excellent. Works perfectly with M4 screws. Used to repair a DIY speaker which had poor threads.

These are way too brittle even when oversizing the hole when used in plywood. The head would simply tear right off and I had drill out a couple of them.

I am dumbfounded with how brittle these inserts are, they break with the slightest force. I had two of them shear off and basically disintegrate halfway in. So now I have one stuck inside of my air rifle's wood stock that is going be a nightmare to get out.I hardly had put any force on it when it sheared. I thought maybe it was a QC issue with just the one I tried so I gave another one a shot and it did the same thing essentially crumbling with hardly any force at all. I am not exaggerating when I say that I could probably break one of these with my bare hands they are that brittle. These will snap on you and you will have a a real ordeal on your hands figuring out how to remove it once it breaks. I'm not sure if this is just a bad batch or if they are all like this, I saw all the glowing reviews and thought they should be fine. Really wish I just bought a set at the hardware store instead.Buyer beware!!! Don't make the same mistake I did!!!

I had a lot of trouble getting these screwed into the wood. I tried multiple size holes and varying chamfers/countersinking just on the top of the pilot holes (on a test piece), but still had multiple crack when tightening at the end in my work piece. I still never got 2 out of 4 to sit flush with my surface. They kept cracking down the side when using the allen wrench. I then had to use a bolt to screw in tightly and unscrew the insert using that overtightened bolt, then replace the insert with a new one. I couldn't unscrew it with the allen wrench after they broke. In the end, I was able to get them screwed most of the way, but very frustrating to use and they aren't perfect.

Worked great despite my shoddy implementation. My only complaint is that the threads start a little too low relative to the face of the material.
