I was surprised to find this standard mass is much more accurate than it is certified to. It also comes with a nice plastic case to prevent exposure to the atmosphere (prevents rust = keeps the mass standard!) I wasn’t expecting it to be so nice, frankly. It seems to have some sort of electrocoated layer of high-luster metal to also aid in prevention of oxidation. I expect this will last anyone their entire career if properly handled and stored.
