Attempted to use this to replace parts in my 3D printer, but the first set of bearings fell apart, and the second grinds so badly that it scratches the shaft. I then opened a couple of the remaining bearings in the set and all have so much slop and play in them they are unusable. The material is steel and plastic, there is no rubber. The seals are hard plastic and easily fall out. the tolerances are terrible. Not even going to bother to return them, they are already in the trash.

Out of 10 only 3 were working great, and 5 working fine and 2 were not working at all. Very rough movement on the rod.

White lithium is not the ideal grease for these bearings, you want something as thick as possible, preferably with moly in it.You need to be careful when packing these that you get all the air out and push the rod straight in. If there is even a little angle as you slide the rod in you will catch some balls on the sharp edge of the smooth rod and push them straight out. Doing it this way and stopping whenever I felt resistance then re-aligning I only had 1/20 go bad on me. These are not high load bearings, twisting them with you hand and feeling the balls bind up is not a fair test.Let me tell you, the 19 that I successfully packed are dead smooth. Sure there is some play, these are not $15/piece lightly pre-loaded NDK bearings. Sure if you pack them incorrectly you will dig some balls out, these have plastic retainers and not metal. If you are looking for pre-loaded bearings with metal retainers you need to look elsewhere. However, these are perfect for 3D printing.

8 of 10 ball bushings were rough after greasing, unusable. Only 2 rolled under their own weight of the smooth rod. I need to replace 3 on my printer and could only do 2. One bushing was out of specification and had a lot of play while on the rod. I expected low quality, but this was very disappointing. I might covert the rods for rails.

Out of the entire package, there were two good ones, the rest were garbage.

This is my first shipment, and of the five bearings I have used so far, all are working fine. The ones I received were all shipped completely dry - no rust oil, no grease; so, if dry fitted to rods it is likely some of the balls will fall out. The ball races must be filled with Lithium based grease. And, the grease should be forced into the races, not just slathered or squirted on the surface. This can easily be done by squeezing a blob of grease into the passage, and then carefully insert a rod into both ends, and slowly press the rods together. Repeat until grease oozes out both ends of the bearing, indicating the races are full. Hope this helps.Steve

These are pretty good bearings. They fit the 8mm smooth rods well. My only reason for not giving it a full 5 stars is that the little ball bearings inside will easily fall out if you are not careful when sliding the rod in or out. If you don't loose a ball, they are not to difficult to put back in.

I wasn't sure what to expect out of these bearings for the price but once they arrived and we started using them for our robot project they worked really well. Nice and smooth, a little bit of noise but overall a very good bearing for the price.

Overall the bearings were pretty good considering their low price. They aren't the smoothest, but you cant expect them to be amazing at this price point. The biggest issue I ran into with these was that on two of them the little ball bearings fell out as soon as I inserted the linear rods, making them unusable.

I just got these so I could build a 3D printer I was designing. These things seem rather low quality and catch a lot on linear rods I have. And its not the linear rods issue since some linear bearings I got with my PrintrBot glide just fine without catching.Do not get these unless you have very good alignment and a strong drive motor. But really, they arn't good enough quality for me to ever recommend.
