I’m an experienced marine mechanic with over 40 years on the job. I do lots of small outboards that require this diameter of pull cord rope so it looked like a good choice for enough cord to last me a while. Right off the get go if you squeeze the rope between your fingers it feels hollow or weak in the centre and there’s no chance that it will have near the same tensile strength of the OEM cord that I usually use. I put it on two of my own outboards to test it out hoping that it will get through the boating season. OEM quality cord easily lasts a decade. I will find a use for the rest but it will have to be some other purpose.
