Sound quality was decent for a 5.25" speaker. Maybe a bit thinner on the low end than I was hoping for, but the highs weren't overly bright, which was fine with me. Install was mostly easy, drill a hole run wires, done. These would work ok as height speakers or just as a way to get music into a room without the clutter of bookshelf units. For the money, I really don't have much to complain about. Except...I'm pretty sure what was sold to me was someone else's return. The box had been opened and the speaker mounting posts had clearly been messed with (undamaged though) and there were labels on top of other labels on the outside of the product box. Unfortunate.

I tested out several in-ceiling speakers in hopes of using them for in-ceiling Dolby Atmos surround sound speakers, but ultimately decided to go a different direction as in-ceiling speakers are less than ideal for Atmos height effect speakers. That said, I tested out both the Vaiyer 5.25" and the Vaiyer 6.5" in-ceiling speakers, and here's my thoughts.I was completely underwhelmed by the Vaiyer 5.25" speakers. Very lightweight magnet, simple crossover with just an inductor and a capacitor. Both the Vaiyer 5.25" and the Vaiyer 6.5" in-ceiling speakers use the identical crossover. I couldn't for the life of me get the grills off either the Vaiyer 5.25" or the Vaiyer 6.5" in-ceiling speakers, so no idea how you'd install them without removing the grills? Mounting templates are included (part of the box) and installation instructions are included.I tested these for sound quality as I was testing speakers for my surround sound setup and the Vaiyer 5.25" speakers were pretty sub par in the audio reproduction arena. Almost all mid-range, little treble and almost no bass. Not that I expect 5.25" speakers to bring down the house, but there was nothing, nadda, zilch in the bass reproduction department on the 5.25" speakers. Overall they just sounded tinny.Power wise, advertised as being able to handle 175 watts of power, while in reality 40-50 watts of power is probably more realistic. That said, the 6.5" Vaiyer speakers were a night and day difference compared to their smaller brethren. These sounded decent, not great, but for $59/pair, if you want to get some sound outdoors on your patio, or add sound in your kitchen, these could be fore you. For casual listening, their okay. Obviously not audiophile quality nor do they have an audiophile price tag.

The box flap has a template for cutting out the hole required for installation. Each speaker has 4 plastic tabs that rotate internally to hold the speakers in place. The speakers are not heavy and hold well. The speakers are all plastic the metal grills. The driver surrounds are rubber which is good for flexibility and fast response. The wire terminals are spring loaded for quick insertion and removal and also constant pressure to ensure a good contact. The sound is good when driven with a proper amplifier and proper enclosure. If mounting into a wall or ceiling an 8"x11"x5" enclosure would be beneficial.

Having tested the Vaiyer 5.25 Inch Ceiling Speakers with a large amp, I'm genuinely impressed with their performance. I plan to now install them in my TV room. They deliver surprisingly loud volumes, VERY LOUD lol... The bass output was decent for their size, adding a nice depth to the overall sound. The build quality is decent, they have a bit of weight to them which I like, with audio equipment weight is usually a sign of a quality build. Hopefully they're made to last. With each speaker handling up to 175 watts, they provided a clear audio even at loud volumes. One thing to note, due to where you mount this, it may have a rattle to it at louder volumes.Great speakers though. A+

I initially bought these speakers because my previous premium ones didn’t fit the existing six-inch opening in my ceiling, and these were the only ones I found that could. I wasn’t expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised by their performance. The sound quality is excellent—so much so that I set them up next to my premium speakers, and I honestly couldn’t tell the difference. For anyone looking for speakers that fit smaller spaces without sacrificing sound quality, these are a great option.
