Put this in a hot tub refurb project. After putting water in the tub, I noticed a few drips coming from it. This leak was not across the valve (input to output) but was from the inside to the exterior of the unit. Thought it must be coming from one of my glue joints and I was going to try and separate it from the pipe with torch and re-glue it. Luckily I was working on another aspect of the plumbing when I saw the drips so went ahead are turned a pump on, etc. Well I looked over and the leak was flowing more from the few psi of the pump which made it evident where the leak was really coming from. Turns out it was not my joint but it was coming from a poorly molded/glued seam under the handle where a rectangle of PVC joins the housing that the gate slides into. This crack was not due to the pump pressure but was due to a failure during manufacturing. So, I left it in place and took a soldering iron and melted the PVC across the joint/crack. That stopped the leak just fine. Over the next day or so, I slobbered some PVC cement over the area a few times to build up a little more thickness over the weld. Should be good enough for the life of the tub as I did not want to bother replacing it.

Work like it should, But I did learn what the red clip was for. Seen some on the floor of our hot tub. Now I know what they are used for holding the vavle open.

Used this to replace a leaky gate valve in a ten-year-old hot tub. Valterra has a similar product that has four screws, but this one has a slightly higher pressure rating and is slightly cheaper. Note that this particular valve has a slip fitting on one end (to "slip" over a standard 2" PVC pipe) and a spigot fitting on the other end (to fit into a 2" coupling). That was handy because there was very little slack in the pipe run, and I was able to do the repair with just one extra coupling.
