An RV repair pro myself, I've used the Ebonylines and Bronzelines for many, many years. Over time, the end fittings have gotten so thin and poorly made, they often have problems right out of the package. Sad to see. Are you reading this Valterra? Makes these hoses a better value again. The ends of these new hoses deteriorate way before the actual hose does. I see it over and over. In addition, the even thinner brass ends are more susceptible to damage in a light freeze situation. If you at Valterra insist on making them cheaply like this, at least return to making them in a size so a standard brass hose replacement end will fit. You used to have them sized that way...but quit, probably to sell more stinking hoses. Do better Valterra For now I only continue getting and recommending your hoses because they're heat tape rated.

I am returning this second hose for the same reason I returned the first one. Lousy Quality Control. Both Valterra W01-0010 Ebonyline Black 1/2" x 10' Drinking Water Hoses leaked, more like squirted, badly the moment I turned on the water supply. This one had two bad leaks on the faucet end.The leaks are caused by the plastic hose splitting when the brass ends are clamped on. This is a quality supply issue by the manufacture and in my opinion, having read the comments regarding this hose is that all of them need to be recalled to the factory in Mexico instead of selling and sending defective products to consumers. (Wasting everyone's time)These splits in the plastic tubing can be seen with the naked eye. I knew this replacement hose would leak before I even connected it to the water supply. I could see the two cracks in the tubing extending out past the brass fitting. But connected it just to say "It's squirting worse than the first one."After receiving this defective hose, I called an RV store in Missoula, MT and asked if they had a high pressure 1/2 inch hose. The clerk said yes. I ask him if it was a Valterra W01-0010 Ebonyline Black 1/2" x 10' Drinking Water Hose and he said yes.I then explained the problem I had with the two Valterra hoses. He checked the one he had and noticed that it too was split by the female end as were the two I received. So the problem isn't just Amazon, it exists in every store that handles Valterra's 10-foot, 1/2 inch hoses."I can't sell you this one," he told me. (And I didn't want to buy it.)Get this junk off Amazon.

This product is just 1/2 inch irrigation tubing with hose fittings crimped onto each end. And they’re crimped on so carelessly that each end has multiple cracks along the tubing’s length right out of the box, making the hose leak like a fountain at both ends the moment it carries water. It’s junk. Complete and utter garbage. Not worth paying for, nor waiting for it to arrive. DO NOT BUY THIS!

Not super strong and a narrow hose but it’s perfect to add a little length to my existing hose

Perfect for constructing your own Heated Water Hose for RV Living. Simply electric tape (every 6") a 24ft heat cable/tape straight (do NOT spiral) to the hose (thermostat sensor in direct contact with hose on spigot connection end). Then wrap entire hose/cable assembly with 3/4" foam pipe insulation and spiral electric tape tightly around insulation to seal. Then connect hose to spigot and RV. Better yet, install a 90degree brass hose elbow to RV inlet, cut a 3/4" hole through a hard plastic faucet cover, shove hose thru hole, fasten the cover the the elbow, connect hose to elbow, and sinch the cover tight to the RV wall (insulates the hose end). The spigot end can be covered by an irragation valve cover box or wrapped in 3/4" pipe insulation foam as well.

I love this hard line RV hose. I am using it for winter applications. Definitely more suited for heat tapes, and the quality reflects a long life (I hope). Wish I had been able to find these hard hoses earlier, as they would have been much better than the soft ones which have to be replaced every year. Update-- still the best RV hose out there, but have found it still needs to be replaced every couple years, rather than every year as other softer white fresh water hoses. Heat tape? I did not wrap, but ran it gently along length of hose, taping every couple feet. Guess what, the heat tape melted the Valterra line, split it open and flooded. So no, just like all other hoses, this one is not infallible, but just a better bet. I am on my third one after many years (and I am ordering a backup incase the heat tape melts it again this winter). The only way to prevent winter issues is use a hard line fresh water feed like CPVC, but who can do that?
