If the blue box reeds are too hard for you, these are a step down in size. For an example: If you play 2 1/2 and they're too tough on ur embourchure, getting a 2 1/2 red box makes it do able by one step down.These reeds are softer than the traditional blue box ones. Great for jazz mouthpieces and more easy to play note. Recommended

I bought these because my sax mentor swears by Vandoren Java and he's right! these reeds make my sax sound amazing. I have yet to find a bad reed in a pack of 10. I always shave my reeds a bit with a lathe dye to make sure they are perfectly flat against the table of the mouthpiece. I highly recommend this product!

I was looking for a reed that would give me a bit more resistance compared to the Rico Royals I have been using for many years. I tried this reed on spec but I am very pleased with the result. I play Tenor SA80 and a Jodie Jazz DV NY.

I've been using Vandoren reeds for all my saxophones and clarinets for over 50 years, 10 as a professional musician. They are consistently good, very good.

decent reeds...found three so far that I can use and haven't nearly run out...I like these for improvisations, jazz and whatever -(they are considered to be jazz reeds).

Excellent reeds!! I like them because of their easy way to sound... I get them also for my alto sax and in both saxes they sound really great!!
