I'm pleased to report that the results with the S1 Pro dashcam were consistent with my previous positive experiences with this brand. The sensor performs exceptionally well in low-light conditions, which I found quite impressive. The installation was straightforward and took me about a couple of hours, thanks to my previous experience with dash cam setups. I particularly appreciated the use of the static strip on the windshield, which left no glue marks. The length of the cord to the rear camera was more than sufficient. The video quality is customizable, and the built-in GPS sensor, which records speed and location on the video clips, is a fantastic feature. The accompanying app provides great connectivity, allowing for real-time camera feed viewing with smooth video streams. I was able to customize the duration of the clips, and with a 256GB microSD card, I have ample storage for a long time. However, there is one significant drawback: the button layout on the camera is quite frustrating. Unlike the standard left, right, up, down, and center 'OK' button arrangement found on many devices, each button on this dash cam has a unique function that requires checking the screen to remember. For example, the middle button does not function as an 'OK' press to select, which I found quite annoying. Overall, while the camera is excellent, the button layout and menu system improvements would make it even better.

Easy to install. Works as expected. Starvis 2 with HDR is the feature to go. The UI on screen is easy to navigate. It also has a function to automatically take a snap picture when car shakes while driving, e.g., hitting a bump. I also purchased a SanDisk 128GB MAX Endurance card to match it.

For the wife's car. SO many close calls, so many crazies on the road... Installed this as a ever present witness to everythig that happens on the road. Didnt hardwire it. was able to install front and back cams with concealed wires in about an hour. 12v cigarette outlet cuts power when car is off, and automatically on when engine is running which is perfect. No risk to battery.(My Ford keeps 12v outlet live for 75mins after engine is off)Because it's not hardwired the parking mode is disabled. But that an "us" problem.

In 2021, I purchased a Vantrue S1 4K Dash Cam with front and rear 1080P dual GPS dash cameras for my car. This camera system has been reliable, providing clear and usable front and rear videos. I hardwired it into my car, and it has offered excellent documentation of near-accidents, which would have been invaluable in the event of an actual accident. The S1 has proven to be a very good value. In 2024, I added the newer version of the S1, the Vantrue S1 Pro 2.7K Front and Rear 5G WiFi Dual Dash Camera, to my wife’s SUV. The S1 Pro maintains the same high-quality video recording while offering several upgrades and improvements over the older S1. The cameras are more compact, with the front camera being slightly smaller and the rear camera significantly smaller than the S1. The Sony Starvis 2 sensor provides much better low-light resolution. One of the major problems with the 2021 S1 was the need to remove it from its windshield mount and unplug it from both the power supply and the rear camera connection to reset or change settings from its menus. The S1 Pro fixed this with the ability to be controlled by the Vantrue Phone App or voice commands, making it much easier to use without removing the camera. The inconsistency of the cable connectors was also an issue on the older dash cam, but the new one uses all USB-C connections. The S1 Pro supports a larger memory card (512GB versus 256GB), and the GPS is more accurate. The Vantrue phone app offers features like route mapping and video downloads to your phone, enhancing the overall functionality. My old dashcam, rated at 1080p, had degraded footage quality and struggled in poor lighting, making it difficult to identify details, especially at night. The new Vantrue S1 Pro dashcam provides a significant improvement, with noticeably better video quality and less blurry frames, making it easier to extract clear images from the video. This is a crucial improvement for identifying details in various lighting conditions. One of the biggest advantages is the app connectivity, which simplifies accessing videos—a major selling point for me after experiencing difficulties with my old dashcam's interface. The low-power 24/7 park mode is another feature I like, as it offers additional security when the car is parked. Installation of the new model was straightforward, taking about 40 minutes, and the provided tools made wire management seamless. I'm extremely pleased with Vantrue's products and service.

In 2021 I purchased two Vantrue S1 4K Dash Cams Front and Rear, 1080P Dual GPS Dash Cameras for my two cars. Both of the camera sets are reliable and have worked very well. The videos are clear and very useable. I had the cameras hard wired into each car. The cameras have provided excellent documentation of two near misses involving 18 wheelers while on long cross country trips that would have been invaluable had there been an accident. The S1 is a very good value.I have since purchased (2024) the newer version of the S1, the Vantrue S1 Pro 2.7K Front and Rear 5G WiFi Dual Dash Camera. The S1 Pro has the same high quality video recording. The newer camera offers several upgrades and improvements over the S1, but at a higher price. The S1 Pro cameras are more compact. The front camera is slightly smaller than the S1and the rear camera is quite a bit smaller. The S1 required removal from its windshield mount since it was mounted behind the rear view mirror and to be unplugged from both its power supply and the connection to the rear camera and then plugged into a power supply to reset any changes made from its menus,. The new S1 Pro can now be controlled from The Vantrue Phone App on your phone or by voice control making it much easier to use and the changes can be made with the camera mounted. The menus built into the camera are somewhat confusing to use, but the initial set up and making changes from the app are very clear and straight forward. The S1 Pro also provides for a larger memory card 512gb vs 256gb. The GPS seems to be more accurate on the S1 Pro as well. The Vantrue phone app provides other features, such as a map of your route and downloading the videos to your phone, that would not otherwise be available. In addition to using the cameras as dash cams, I have also used them in our boat to record views from our boat and when I Autocross a classic sports car. When viewed on my computer, the picture quality is excellent. When using the cameras in these ways I use extra windshield mounts and a regular power cable.Vantrue has provided excellent customer support and service.UpdateAfter several months of use the camera is operating as expected providing clear videos. The phone app allows for easy operations and the several features that allow easy review of the videos as well as mapping of routes recording. Overall the camera continues to meet all of my expectations.

I purchased a VanTrue dashcam, S1 Pr0. Good quality product, sturdy, with rear camera option built in.Camera performs well, and i am pleased with it.However, when i need to operate the scrolling etc. i had difficulty. Camera is too far away when mounted to a large windscreen, cannot read the small print on camera. problem camera mount is glued to windscreen, can detach camera, but then has no power. (because power cord is plugged into the camera mount, not the camera. I contacted Cathy the customer rep at VanTrue, our interaction was very positive, and she seemed genuinely interested in supporting me. the issue was solved with a replacement windshield mount, also a cable. I was promised the parts, also advised they would take a couple of weeks as coming from China. I did receive them as promised, and wish to give Cathy a pat on the back, for the service that was provided for me. I am now a happy boy. Thankyou VanTrue. Alex T. Ontario, Canada.

We have had the Vantrue S1 Pro in our main vehicle now for almost a year. Purchased the Vantrue 256 Gb card and polarizer filter along with hardwire (HW) kit at same time. I haven't installed the HW kit as yet but that will likely happen next spring.Reason was that I wanted to see how it worked out after having purchased a competitors dash cam for the summer use only vehicle. Ended up sending the Rove unit back and purchased the Vantrue N2 Pro for our travels and Ram 3500. Not much use for a rear facing camera as the RAM works best for hauling our 10k lbs trailer around. The N2 Pro works great for the RAM with a truck Cap on it (I left a separate review).Re: As far as I can tell the S1 Pro it has worked flawlessly for the past year. My only caveat for this review is that I haven't downloaded any clips since I tested it out upon initial installation in our daily driver. We simply record as we drive. Likely will have to change that process and to try downloading a clip of two shortly. I will follow up this review once I have had that chance and while it might take a while to get to it... I promise to post an update.
