Ordering this shoe horn as a gift, my primary concern was durability. I've previously seen a similar plastic version of this product fail quickly with use, and wasn't certain how the strength of this one would compare.Ultimately, I was pleasantly surprised. The entire setup is very lightweight, yet feels pretty durable. The telescoping extension pole has a wider diameter than I expected, lending quite a bit of strength to it. The shoe horn attachment itself is also metal, and seems well suited to hold up against daily use. I think the connection between the telescoping pole and the shoe horn is still a somewhat weak point, but even that seems reasonably durable - and with careful positioning of the shoe horn during use, I think you can minimize stressing that connection.The telescoping pole has very smooth operation - locking/unlocking the segments, and extending it. The shoe horn attachment is a bit smaller (in terms of width) than other handheld shoe horns I have, and not quite as comfortable to use - but it does work.

Great sense of quality in the Varcoh long handle shoe horn. It feels solid and well-constructed, and I can tell it's built to last. This is what I call a purchase from one of the cheap Chinese commerce sites - it’s very light, kind of cheesy in how cheap-feeling the shoe horn is, and is definitely not built to last a few decades, which makes me sad because I was hoping this long shoe horn may be useful over the years.This comes in a super thin bag, likely for travel use, but it’s too thin to withstand much abuse. The telescoping rod is also very light and it could come apart easily if you overloosen the rings, revealing a cheap plastic inner ring - I found this by making the mistake of over-loosening. The shoe horn then gets screwed onto the rod, which can be lengthened to about 30” long.This puts the shoe horn an ideal distance from hand to shoe for an average person like me (5’10” tall). However, the shoe horn portion isn’t overly robust - I have free plastic shoe horns from previous shoe purchases that are better built. However, when combined with the telescoping rod, this is still an acceptable solution to an old problem.I’ll continue to use this but would NOT rank this as a well-constructed product.

Grâce à la petite dragonne, je peux laisser ce chausse-pied entièrement déplié et l'accrocher au mur.Je peux enfin enfiler mes chaussures debout. Le manche est bien rigide, ce qui facilite la chose.Très content. Enfin un chausse-pied rigide et solide.

This shoe horn is collapsible into a foot-long bag, or extendable to 30 inches. It takes a moment to figure out how to extend the two rods (c’mon, directions, people), but the length works well without bending over. Marked “CE” (meets European Union safety standards). Made in China. I worry about the electroplating wearing off in a year or two, but it works well and only takes up a tiny amount of room in a suitcase. I’ll be using this.
