I was impressed when I received my order. The woodgrains were gorgeous and the color-coded ends made blank identification very easy.I had a very serious problem with the first blank I used to make a pen however the Ebony with white. The holes drilled fine, the tubes glued securely, and the ends squared nicely. The dry, uncolored end of the blank (the paint used in color-coding seemed to prevent the other end from drying out so badly) I chose produced a fine powder when squaring rather than the flakes I'm accustomed to seeing, but I'm fairly new to pen making and didn't think much about it. While turning the blank to size however, the dry end of the blank all but disintegrated as I neared completion. I use VERY SHARP carbide cutters, and was making the final, finest cut I could possibly before moving on to sanding. The bottom 1/3 of the blank disappeared - all that was left was the CA glue on the tube where the wood used to be.I didn't have any spare 7mm tubes on hand, but needed to make several pens that use that size. I ordered this blank pack to make these pens, but was unwilling to try another blank for fear of the problem happening again.I've ordered some 7mm tubes and will try using the remaining blanks once they arrive. I'm hopeful that this was nothing more than bad luck and the rest of the blanks will not be so dried out.All I can say to others who buy this pack is 'Caveat Emptor'. I'm thankful the pack was inexpensive!

These are very straight forward, nice selection, and perfectly sized blanks. So far they have all been perfect.

All the blanks I received were in great condition, and I really like that they were labeled. As much as I am getting into woodworking, there are still species that I can't identify by sight, so it is nice to have the label to reference and to take note of.

Nice quality blanks. They turn beautifully! The premium cocobolo is GORGEOUS! It was a treat to see the different colors and grain patterns emerge as I turned it. The mahogany turned very nicely and engraved well. Will order more!
