These had no stretch whatsoever. I could not wear them while I was pregnant, and now postpartum, I fit in them but because of the lack of stretch, I would not wear them. Maybe they would have worked if I would have sized up one to two sizes.

I had gotten rid of my maternity clothes last year because we were done with 4 kids, but clearly God had other plans for us and we’re grateful for a 5th. I needed to buy some maternity staples that didn’t cost that much and didn’t scream maternity clothes. Found these shorts two days ago and purchased this and the blue one. Considering the other reviews of them not being true to size, I sized up. Relieved I did. I’m 5’3” and normally 120lbs and a small in regular and maternity clothes, but I bought a medium. It fits well around my hips and thighs like normal denim shorts - not too tight, not too loose. I do agree also that the belly material, which is cotton, is comfortable but doesn’t hold anything in and will slide down, even when tightening the elastic band (similar to adjustable toddler pants’ elastic waist bands.) The back pockets are functional while the two “front pockets” are not. I’d definitely size up. I’m currently 24 weeks, I also got diastasis recti with our eldest, hence that big outie bellybutton 5 pregnancies later and my need for something with a tad more compression around the belly which these shorts don’t provide. I don’t think my hips will fit comfortably in them when I’m in my 3rd trimester, but it’s okay because I think by that time it will be too chilly to wear these. They’re still a good value for casual, denim maternity shorts so 4.5 stars. The two pairs I bought arrived the next day.

These shorts are definitely cuter than most maternity denim I’ve tried, but the rise is so low that you really have to wear a long, loose shirt with them. You can’t do the right tank look because you can see the lines from the belly cover. The elastic is adjustable and they are comfortable. As long as you have the right shirt options these may be worth a try!

I really wanted to love these but sadly they run very small! I typically wear a medium-large. I ordered a XL to give belly room. These fit like a medium. So tight and uncomfortable on my belly where they button.
