This review is for the "Versatile Kitchen Grinder | 500W Electric Mill | Grinds Spices, Nuts, Grains, Coffee | 3 Stainless Steel Blades | Wet & Dry Use (Green)."Yes, it's loud, but so is my coffee grinder from a brand name. Two things stand out for me. One, if that it comes with different blades for a variety of grinding options. Second is that the grinding cup itself is removable. Not the case on my old one and if I ground anything to a powder, it creeped up and over the retaining cup making a mess. This one is designed a little better imho.Price is reasonable for what you get imo. Build is good too. Directions are not so good, but it's not difficult to figure out. Hopefully the directions/manual will be rewritten. It's worthy of recommendation.

This Versatile Kitchen Grinder is a little powerhouse! It grinded coffee beans in seconds and did so perfectly. It has 2 power settings but honestly, the first one has plenty of power for grinding almost anything. The quality is pretty decent other than the lid release button appears to be cheap plastic and the power cord is very thin but everything else seems to be great quality; I love that the grinding bowl is stainless steel for easy cleaning and no plastic residues. It comes with a little stainless steel sifter which is nice when desiring very fine powder. It also comes with a handy cleaning brush. The bowl is simple to lock and unlock into place and it holds quite a bit. This is fairly compact so it doesn't take up a lot of room. The Value is Decent!

Not like oh my god loud, but it's pretty dang loud. Other than that, it is a solid powerful unit so far. There are two speeds you can turn it to, and it stays on. The low speed has a lower frequency but still noisy output. Higher speed = higher frequency. Then you can turn the knob counterclockwise to pulse grind. The knob springs back and the machine cuts off.The motor will emit some odor as it gets broken in. Typical electronic motor scent I've smelled many times. Hopefully that subsides over the months and years ahead.I like the form factor/design/overall look, and based on the instructions and guidance for runtimes and all, the motor used is powerful and solid.Yes, it comes with three Extra blades, it does not Have three. Just the one is in place and running in the unit at any given time.Hope this is helpful in your purchase decision.

It took me a while to figure this grinder out. I could have just plugged it in and been OK, but I like to read the instructions first, and they're pretty short, so I started there. Unfortunately, instructions like these seem to be becoming the norm, not the exception: poorly written, poorly organized, awkward translations, and omitted topics.Between guessing at what certain instructions meant and a bit of trial and error, I was able to get the grinder to work. Here are the positives:Seems well constructed qualitywise. It's designed in two major parts: the bottom, which contains the motor and electrical components, including the control dial and the power cord, and the top, which features the grinding blade, a handle, and the removable top.The bottom has four excellent suction cups. I placed this on my counter, then went to move it and I was surprised that it wouldn't budge! I had to gently pry up each of the four cups with my fingers to release their grip on the counter. I'm not complaining here, just observing; this is a big plus! No matter what you're grinding, the grinder is going to stay put and not vibrate its way onto the floor. There is a dial that is simple to operate and has three positions: off, slow, and fast. The instructions make it far more difficult than necessary to explain. I read them several times and finally gave up trying to understand "P." The dial shows several dots in between the settings, implying that there are numerous in-between options, like it's an infintitely variable speed grinder; it is not. It has two preset speeds: slow and fast. I doubt you'll need more than that. I ground a tablespoon of peppercorns as a test, and the two speeds were all I needed to give me excellent results.Another big positives: it comes with three replacement blades. The top section comes preinstalled with a blade set, so with three additional spares, this grinder should last a long time.Overall, in terms of how the grinder is designed and constructed, and how it performs, I'd give it 5 stars. Now for the negative:The manual. It's anything but clear. You'll need to read it several times, and you will still have questions. I don't understand why Chinese companies don't hire a native English speaking tech writer and pay them to write their manuals. It would be worth it. Many manuals, including this one, look like an engineer with mediocre communication skills dashed something off in Chinese, ran it through a translation program, and checked "manual" off their to-do list. You'll see for yourself when you try to understand the manual. But in addition to the hard-to-understand sections, there are two glaring omissions, which for me are significant issues. First, the foam packaging holds three spare blades, which is great! But nowhere in the manual does it tell you how to replace the blade. It's scalpel-sharp, so you really should get some guidance on how to replace it safely. But you'll just have to figure that out for yourself; hopefully you won't slice your finger open while doing so.Secondly, there is an included metal basket with a sieve/screen on the bottom. What is it for? How do you use it? No idea. There is no mention of this in the instructions. I assumed it was to be placed in the grinder upside down before closing the lid and turning on the grinder. I figured it was meant to keep the substance being ground close to the blade. But I was wrong (I think). Not only did it not do so when I tried to grind the peppercorns, but it kept the grinder from doing its job effectively by keeping the peppercorns trapped along the outside edge of the grinder. It also trapped pepper in its rolled metal edge. And it was nearly impossible to remove from the grinder without turning it upside down, spilling ground pepper all over the counter. So I'm not sure what it's for. And it's not mentioned anywhere in the instructions.I see on the product page there is a sentence that might explain this: "The included filter and brush make cleaning quick and easy." So I'm inferring that this metal basket is a "filter." How one would use this to clean the unit is a mystery to me. There is nothing about it in the instructions. So I am generously rating the instruction manual at a 2. At least there is one. No manual would rate a 1. But since you normally only need instructions when you first get a product, I won't let the low instruction rating pull down my overall rating too much. Once you figure out how to use the grinder, you'll probably lose the instructions anyway and won't need them. It's a shame an otherwise well designed, well built spice grinder needs to lose a star because no one considered good instructions to be important.[Update: I just happened to scroll through the Amazon product page and see that there are better instructions on the page than the printed instructions included with the product. Although I'm glad to see that, it doesn't change my rating; there should still be good instructions included with an appliance that costs this much.]The grinder itself is a fine product, so I will only knock one star off my overall rating and give it a 4. If they would put a little effort into writing a good instruction manual, this product would easily warrant 5 stars.Full Disclosure: I received this product at no charge through Amazon's Vine program in return for writing an honest, accurate product review. Amazon's only requirement is that I review the products I order, not that I praise them. I believe I have an obligation to tell you what I think – good and/or bad so you can make informed purchases.
