This was a Christmas gift, so I have not seen a great deal of it. However, I was impressed with the quality of this telescope. It really looks the business and the optical quality is good for the price. The recipient of the gift (6 years old) is delighted, so I can certainly recommend it.

Good price for a working telescope that I'll be using for costumes. The leather does not smell as I read in other posts. Didn't give it four stars because the leather quality isn't that good and the strap is short and thin.

It's exactly as described. I LOVE IT!!! The magnification isn't that great, but I'm not using it at sea. It's part of a living history costume. I would suggest you pick up one of those clear shoe polishing sponges and use it to treat the leather, as it's a touch dry. The clasp for the strap only has one hole. If you want more you can take it to any watchmaker and ask him to punch some extra holes in it. OR, buy a leather hole punch, they are relatively in expensive.

Built well and looks great. Smaller than I thought it would - about 7inches closed, but 19 inches open. So not as dramatic to wear as I was hoping, but a great piece. The optics are good. I wasn't sure based on the description, but it is a good working telescope.

Excellent product , good value for the money. Take a little time to get used to it and you will see well. But don't expect too much.
