I ordered the name brand when I felt like this was subpar quality. The name brand had metal-anchored components securing the hanger to the wood instead of a screwed-in component that relies on the screw threads to protect an expensive instrument. It's probably just fine for most people's uses but I decided the risk wasn't worth it to me.

Liked overall quality for reasonable price. Some minor scuffs/imperfections on mahogany base and threaded rod a tad short, but overall best value IF price remains at $14 (current price listed has now jumped to $22 or $36, and at that price point better to buy the competitors similar, violin shaped holder for $17)

Works like it should! A bit tricky to get the neck of the violin to fit in the holder but once it’s in, it’s sturdy.

I started using these several years ago when I decided to increase floor space in my home studio but I hanging instruments on the wall. When installed properly, these do the trick. I tend to not use the screws with the little plastic sleeves that are sheet rock anchors. I use a stud finder And land screws into the studs. I haven’t had a single failure of this product, whether I was hanging my violin, or a heavy bass guitar.
