Hi, I'm CVABuck and I have a problem. I can't seem to stop acquiring duty belts. This one is simply okay. Granted, it's mostly well made with a beautiful finish, but the keepers feel cheap and don't exude the confidence I need to use them as intended. Also, there's nothing to lock the keepers in place like a molle or clamping system. They simply "trap" between the inner and outer belt, leading to items shifting and moving when running, sliding, or working tight corners around solid cover. If you throw the keepers away and just use a clamp system, this isn't a bad rig, but there's definitely better options available out there.

As you might expect this belt is heavy and stiff when new but it is leather and is meant for duty wear. More than just a duty belt, it's a system. With the inner belt pulled through the belt loops of the pants and fastened w/velcro it's quick to put on. When the duty belt is then wrapped around outside the inner belt and attached with the included straps it securely holds the entire assembly in place. This system is new to me and I'm enjoying it greatly. In my work I don't have a ring of equipment all the way around my waist but for carrying my holster and a light I expect many years of service. Like all products of this type I expect it will become more flexible and comfortable in time. The belt fastener is interesting as this is the first one I've had with a button press in the center as well as squeezing tabs on the outer edge to unlock. I do like the velcro system for adjusting the duty belt length also. Much better than messing with metal buckles and being limited to a specific length based on the spacing of holes in the belt. With velcro the belt can be any length you choose within the limits of it's size.

Belt arrives in a plain brown box. Belt is as pictured. This is not like a regular belt where too large is Ok and you just cut it down. This belt is stiff up to the point you can adjust it at. The measurements are actual. Do not go by your pants size. I might wear a 36 waist on Lee jeans but I'm actually 40 and need the 40 in this belt.The Velcro outer is 1.5" wide but the inner belt is 1 7/8", not 2" as advertised.Doesn't smell like anything.Everything seems like radically heavy duty except for the center / safety latch in the latching mechanism. It's made from good plastic but for the longest service I'd recommend to be conscious to press that front tab far in every time when latching and unlatching so the wear on the locking tab is minimized. You know you will be doing it right when there is no 'click' sound- though there is a second way to get a click sound when latching and that is from the main latch you squeeze at the top and the bottom. Those tabs are very sturdy and should last a long time. It's the front secondary tab which seems to the weak link in something otherwise very ruggedly made.
