I used a dripless candle for easy cleanup. The base is nice and heavy for the size. And the top part wipes clean easily after burning a candle, with no permanent discoloration from the soot.These came REALLY securely packed in styrofoam. Unlikely to break in transit. Keep the box, it's a great way to store them safely when not in use.

I just got this set of six hurricane lamp style candle stick holders, and they are absolutely gorgeous. When I saw the price tag of $70, I'll admit, I had a moment where I thought it was a bit much. But, my wife? She thought they were an absolute steal. And you know how it goes - happy wife, happy life, right?All six of these glass votives made it to us in pristine condition, which was a relief because they were so well packaged for the journey. The glass is this beautiful, crystal clear kind that just sparkles no matter what color candle you put in there. They just elevate any candle color pairing to something special.They've arrived just in time for those formal holiday dinners and entertaining we've got planned. They're going to be the centerpiece that gives our table that extra touch of elegance. If you're looking to impress or just add a bit of luxury to your home, these candle holders are definitely worth considering.

The size of these holders surprised me. I’ve taken a pic of one of them next to a 17 oz. bottle of water. They are very attractive and well made. They were packed really well in custom cut foam - so well that I was concerned that I would break the tube trying to take it out. The glass is thick (but not ugly) and heavy weight. You just have to take care and if necessary, stretch or tear the styrofoam.UPDATE: Since I received these, I’ve knocked over (the same) one three times. Twice on a cloth covered glass table and once onto a granite countertop. Somehow, it survived all three with nary a scratch or a crack. I want to be clear that the falling over has nothing to do with any instability on the part of the holder, and everything to do with me. So yes, they are strong and may all survive me yet!
