My son could not use the handbrakes that came with his bike. They were clearly meant for full-size people (my son is seven). He would get very fatigued trying to use them, and it took a long time for him to actuate the lever. after I got these on there he can still lock up the rear tire, And is strong enough to work the levers. They’re fairly cheap molded plastic, but I am certain they will work great for the year or two it will take him to outgrow this bike. It did take a fair bit of monkeying with the brakes to get them set right, I had to rough true the back tire.

Our grandson wrecked the bike the first day we bought it. He broke off the hand brake. We purchased these and changed the one out. My husband had to change out the screws, the bikes were black and these are silver. It was a challenge changing the bolts and screws out, but it looks and works great! So the extra few minutes changing it out was worth it for price. So all in all great buy!

Replaced broken brake handle on kid's bike. Very close to original in size and design. Easy to install and adjusting cable actually easier with help from another person. Durability yet to be seen but cannot see any reason it shouldn't last.

Got as a replacement for my 6 year olds bike to replace the plastic one that broke. They were missing the bolts to tighten them to the bars, after getting hardware and installing them I found out they bend when even slightly applying the brakes. Total junk.

the levers are all plastic, all of it. There is no hinge on these so you do have to remove the grips to install these, but that's expected with brake levers like 50% of the time.The biggest problem is that these are made with very weak plastic. When you install them you can not put them on too tightly or they will crack, but if they are not tight, they will twist around all the time. When you pull on the lever, the plastic flexes (yes even a 4 yr old can bend these when gripping to brake). Because of all the flexing, the force is not sufficient enough to brake reliably.

The quality is not so good. One of them broke near the break cable with in 3 months of use.

Purchased this to replace my daughters brake lever after she took a spill and shattered the original. It bolted up fine, and seems to function well, although it feels even cheaper than the one that broke. The hardest part of the installation was getting the darn glued grip off the bike handle.So far so good, but if it fails at least it was as a two pack, for a fair price.

This is a brake handle that is well suited for small hands. My 4 year old grandson wanted a handbrake in addition to a coaster brake. The caliper required for the rear wheel was made for a full sized cruiser. The small handle operates the large caliper with good control. The handle is plastic and might break with a fall; however there are two in the package.
