Illumination

The Strike Eagle 1-8x24 FFP uses a variable intensity reticle illumination system, found on the optic’s left-hand side. To activate the illumination, rotate the illumination dial to the desired intensity setting. The Strike Eagle has nine daylight illumination settings, and two night vision compatible settings. To turn the illumination off, dial the Illumination Dial to “0.”

Magnification

The magnification adjustment is used to change the riflescope’s “power.” The Strike Eagle 1-8x24 FFP is a variable powered optic with an 8x optical design. This will allow you to change the power from 1x to 8x using the Magnification Adjustment Ring.

Ocular Focus

The Strike Eagle 1-8x24 FFP uses a Fast-Focus Eyepiece designed to easily adjust the focus on the riflescope’s reticle.

1. Turn the magnification ring to the highest power. Looking through the optic, turn the Fast-Focus Eyepiece counterclockwise until the reticle is slightly blurry.

2. While looking at a white wall or a clear blue sky, taking short glances through the optic, turn the Fast-Focus Eyepiece clockwise until the reticle is clear and crisp as soon as you look through the optic. This may take several attempts.

Turrets

Turrets are used to adjust the point of impact. The Strike Eagle 1-8x24 FFP uses 1/4 MOA turret adjustments on both the Windage and Elevation Turrets. Each click will move the point of impact roughly 1/4" at 100 yards. The turret on the top of the scope is the Elevation Turret, which is used to adjust the point of impact up and down. The turret on the right-hand side of the scope is the Windage Turret and is used to adjust the point of impact left and right.

Throw Lever

1. Find the center of travel on your riflescope’s Magnification Adjustment Ring. This should ensure that the Throw Lever does not contact anything.

2. Gently spread the ring enough to get it over the eyepiece.

3. Slide the Throw Lever onto the magnification ring at the desired position.

4. Insert the hexscrew through the unthreaded hole in the lever and into the ring and tighten only until snug and the ring does not slip when rotated. If you use a torque wrench, tighten to 2.2 inch-pounds (in.lbs.).

5. Test to ensure the Throw Lever is in the best position for you. To adjust, simply loosen and reposition the lever to a more comfortable position. Then, retighten and test the new position.

This scope is excellent quality, i put it on my 6.5 creedmore and shot to 1000y with no problems using this scope. You have the ability to spot your own targets out to about 300y which helps immensely on range days.

Excellent scope for this application at a formidable price. Unfortunately, although competitive, the price has increased considerably. I would have bought another.

It’s just awesome! I always see a lot of negativity about Vortex that usually comes from 1 of 2 types of reviews. One is where there is an associate link provided for something better or the other which is where someone spent their money somewhere else and you are wrong because you choose differently. But the tule of thumb is if everyone is talking about you your doing something right! I’ve had nothing but success with vortex optics and this is no exception I actually like it better then my PST Gen ii. I instantly put this scope into some hard use (why not its warranty is second to none) The glass is clear, the turrets are firm, elevation has a lock in feature, the illumination is good a little busy in the reticle but I got over it. Is it the lightest in its class ? No. Is it the best scope ever? No but it is probably the best bang for the buck WITH Quality out there. If you never used a 34mm tube before let me warn you there’s no going back. Also I wished they had this one out when I bought my PST I would have chosen this one instead and I absolutely love my PST gen ii just saying. Purchasing another one as soon as I finish this review. Don’t believe the negativity buy it find out for yourself. Get it work it over pretty good. You get 30 days to return it for a full refund and if you break it they will give you a new one no questions asked. So what do you have to lose?

This size and magnification optic (3-18×44mm) is a good all around compromise between weight, function and usability. It's the right size and weight to consider a mobile hunting optic yet has enough magnification and function to be a medium long range precision optic. The 3x setting, with 39' FOV, is completely usable in a woodland setting and the 18x is more than enough magnification to provide the definition to engage long range targets in the open. If you are looking for a scope that will do more than be a hunting scope and be light weight enough that you aren't adding 3 pounds to your rifle, this is the scope. At 26.6 ounces, it is one of the lighter weight and affordable 34mm scopes out there in the market. The reticle is nice and crisp whether you choose to run with it lighted or not. The parallax side focus on this optic works well and seems to have more depth of field than others I have tried. Usually when going to an adjustable side focus the extra piece of glass causes a reduction in depth of field but that doesn't seem to happen with this optic. One of the reasons some people choose fixed parallax is to simplify and gain depth of field. This optic offers more quality than I was expecting and it fits nicely in medium Vortex rings on a 20 MOA rail. There will be plenty of room for the rifle barrel. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because you have to install the zero stop that is provided. If that was already a done option then I would have given it 5 stars. The scope does not come with the rings, rail or flip covers in the photo. It will be mounted on a model 307 Weatherby in 257 Wby mag.

This will be my second SE 5-25x56, I sold my first one, just wanted to try some other scopes and nothing really comes close within $1500 price range in terms of quality/feature ratio. You may find scopes in mentioned price bracket with better glass, or better overal quality and rugedness but with far worse feature set, or vice versa, with more features but with quality so poor that half of the features are unusable. Not the case with this one.Everything works and everything is acceptible. Optical clarity is OK, not great, build and fit is OK also not great, but features are very good.

Compared to the gen1 viper this scope is a big upgrade. The turrets lock/unlock easy and scope tracks very well. Clarity is top notch. Couple things if you use the illumination during a bright day even on full power you will not see it the scope let’s in a ton of light and the reticle is red, not like I need it during the day just FYI. The parallex is pretty spot on as well using range finder it is clearest at the yardage labeled on the scope. On full 25x not all of the reticle is showing either I’ve seen this on several FFP. Overall I love it, it’s huge, looks great, and performs amazing definitely worth every penny.
