While these cold shoes may be a good idea they leave much to be desired.First, they must be applied on a flat surfaceSecond, they are very light dutyMy problem is I wanted to attach them to a camcorder, the surface is curved and the shoe will not mount properly, The reason for the cold shoe was to mount a small video monitor as an aid to shooting videos, however, although the monitor is light weight the shoe is still not sturdy enough to support it.Right now i'm considering other appllications for the shoes

I wanted to mount my mini boom mic to the side of my helmet to get some decent audio of the road as I ride. This is a great option to hold the mic in place without adding a 1/4 20# mount to the side. The glue sticks to the helmet really well. It doesn't seem like it will peel off, if it does I think it will take the paint with it.This is also an option for adding a mount to a camera that doesn't have a cold shoe mount. NIce easy to use, great price.
