Leaks from valve covers may be problematic. These not only cause unsightly stains but may lead to serious problems if not repaired.
What is a Valve Cover Gasket?
Valve cover gasket is designed to seal the valve cover to the surface of the engine cylinder head, the valve cover gasket prevents motor oil from leaking out of the joint part.
Pay attention when replace gasket:
* Pls use genuine gasket,wipe the two joint surfaces of engine and clean valve cover with a soft brush.
*Clean the valve cover with cleaning agent, clean the contact surface between the valve cover and cylinder head, install the valve cover gasket, apply gasket maker, and screw the screws diagonally from the middle to both sides.
*Don't scar the valve cover surface when carving debris.Tighten the fixing bolts of valve cover evenly,not too tight,which might hurt your cover.

I was quoted $389 from a local repair shop for the leaking valve cover gasket. I thought “I can do that..” took me a few hours. The gasket was probably double the price of Amazon at the local parts store so I opted to wait till the next day for Amazon. Removing the two studs with a 6mm etorx made everything much easier. Overall I saved $360 doing this gasket myself. Watch a video and do it! My only regret was not pressure washing the valve cover while it was off the car but I was pressed for time.
