Very skeptical at first at how this prong collar would work. But surprisingly, it was very effective. Our dog does not always pull when we go for walks, but some days small things can just set him off. Tried this a couple of times and he barely wants to move at first. But when he realized as long as he doesn't pull on the leash, he won't feel the prongs. The collar is loose on him, so I know it does not hurt him. I also recommend keeping the rubber covers on. Some of the metal prongs have rough edges.

This is an awful product. When I placed it on my two year old Lab, and she started pulling the clasp to lock mechanism (Quick Release Buckle) on the collar failed. She pulled three times and on the third time almost ran into traffic because the locking mechanism failed and the collar came off. I thought maybe I did something wrong. Made some adjustments and the same outcome. After she pulled a few times, the collar just came off. Lucky I had a backup leash on her this time! If I could I would give this a negative -5 stars!

It's easy to put on my dog Rocky It doesn't hurt her as long as you keep the tips with the plastic cover and I can finally control my dog

We have a 65lb Pitbull Mix. My first impression of the collar was that the buckle seemed solid, but eh the d rings seemed kind of small and thin. I trusted some of the other review and gave it a chance. First walk with the collar, it seemed to work ok as far as his pulling. No better or worse than his other collar. about a mile in, the buckle gave way while we were crossing a street. Our dog was pulling on the leash, but not very hard. The buckle just gave way, and he was free. The collar simply unbuckled. This was not user error. I tested it before we left the house and corrected him a few times while on our walk. This collar just does not live up to its advertising. Thankfully our dog finished crossing the street and immediately listen to our calls for him to come. He was not hurt, but this could have gone very bad. Now I cannot trust the collar and must return it.

This collar is well-made overall, but some of the prongs aren’t smooth and feel rough, so I won’t be using it, at least not without the rubber prong covers. That aside, prong collars like this are excellent for training and leash walking—they’re not meant to be left on a dog outside those activities, as doing so would be cruel. My 100 lb mastiff mix responds very well to this type of collar and even gets excited when she sees it because she knows it’s time for a walk. Since starting to use a prong collar, her leash behavior has improved significantly, making our walks much more enjoyable. Just ensure the prongs are smooth and safe before use.

I have a metal chain collar that I use every day on his walks but its starting to look a bit bad so i thought it would be nice to try a non metal version. this clips on and goes just like the metal one but does no have the pinching areas and the noise of metal on metal. I should have bought one size up but it works just fine. It comes with plastic covers over the spikes but they dont seem to be enough so i took some of them off and he doesnt pull now. I like it better than the metal one.

Great option for my 70 lb pound boxer. Build quality has been great and has withstood his thick strong neck. Looks really nice with high and material. Has been really great at training and effective when needed. Have some nice rubber caps for safety but overall it really works well

I recently got a large reactive GSD puppy & have been having a difficult time walking him until I purchased this collar. I've tried regular collars, slip collars, chain collars, etc. ...but still he was pulling me around. Wasn't until I pulled the plastic caps off this prong martingale collar, that I was finally able to walk him without my arm nearly being torn off. Finally something that actually worked. It's built well & I believe will last through both our lives ! What a difference a collar makes !
