Replacing these VVT solenoids on my old E90 definitely seemed to improve its throttle response. My old ones weren’t totally bad but as these things get older, the magnetic field weakens and they become less responsive before failing altogether.I was impressed by how these were packaged - fully vacuum sealed and coated in oil.They come with new spacers and o-rings.Make sure to remove the old o-rings and clean the mating surface before installing the new ones.Hot Tip:Install the new o-rings (coated in engine oil) into the engine first. Then slide the solenoid (with spacer) in and it will seat all the way against the engine without any trouble.If you try to install the solenoids with the o-rings on them, they won’t fit flush against the engine. If you try to force them in the rest of the way, you may tear or fold the seal which could cause major problems.If anything changes, I will update this review.
