I ordered this to replace a very old filter. I have been a renter for 7 years and never knew to change this until this year. My dishwasher is running much better. Silly me but this was quick fix

I moved into a 7-year-old house with very hard water and a Whirlpool dishwasher that did not wash well at all. In examining the filter I saw it was so caked with minerals it was like cement! I called Whirlpool who quoted me $62 for the part. That is outrageous, since it is two plastic rings with a screen. I ordered it on Amazon and it looks identical to the original OEM part from my dishwasher and it seems to be working just as well as an OEM part. (It could be an OEM part -- I don't know.) It has helped to get my dishes cleaner.

So Iām sold on this one. Our old filter screen was gross, even after cleaning it. This one fits perfect, spins right in. Seems as sturdy as the oem. Happy customer.
