- 2. The digital tube only displays 0-100 motor full speed percentage, not the actual motor speed. For example, if the maximum motor speed is 500 rpm, it will display 100 at 500 rpm and 50 at 250 rpm.

- Q1: If the power is cut off the unit will the momentary switch have to be pressed again or will the motor just start back up .
- A: Based from my experience, the switch is initially On all the time. So if power comes back there is no need to press the switch.
- Q2: Is there a soft or slow start feature in this unit?
- A: If the RPM is set to zero when it’s turned on you can slowly turn up RPM until fans start moving. I’ve got one of these running air circulation fans in my boat. It’s been going at 100% for a couple of months now.
- Q3: Can this reverse polarity to run my motor fwd and rev?
- A: It will not reverse a motor's rotation, just controls speed.
- Q4: Can it operate a brushless fan motor?
- A: Sorry, probably not work, it can only operate brush motor.
- Q5: Also can you swap polarity on the output terminals
- A: If you mean can you reverse the motor without rewiring it, the answer is no. This is a single direction speed control only. It has no internal H Bridge that I can tell.
- Q6: What battery pack do i need to run this motor?
- A: What this is used for is to control the ram's on a motor and I was using a 12v motor that generated electricity. This controlled the amount of rpms to put out the voltage I needed from the motor hooked to this to the amount of voltage I needed to run my generator motor. By increasing or decreasing the rpm I could go from say 10volts to 24 volts by using the rpm adjustment
- Q7: Can I replace the potentiometer with a 3 wire foot throttle?
- A: I think yes, just find if the pedal operates on the potentiometer.

Works as intended, I used a different switch for a nicer feel. The numerical output is to the best of my knowledge just a arbitrary 0-100 scale but didn't concern me and worked good for a constant speed

I needed to be able to adjust speed of the motor for a miniature vacuum pump that is a brushed type permanent magnet motor. It works smoothly down to half speed limited there due to the limitation of the motor, that motor is designed with only two commutator bars on the motor armature.

It worked as I had hoped, however, there was absolutely no documentation included. I expected at least a wiring diagram. It did present me with a problem mounting the unit. You will need to mount the display in a panel, basically in a rectangular cutout. It would have been nice if they included a template for the cutout or that least the measurements.

DO NOT PURCHASE IF YOU NEED 30 AMP CAPABILITY!The first time I plugged this in, I turned up the speed and it immediately blew the power control circuit. Full power all the time regardless of what the potentiometer position or power state (via the button).

I repair electronics in the medical field and have for 17 years.I installed this on my kids electric atv. I went down our driveway fine but on the way back up the unit popped this large capacitor inside the module. The atv has a protective circuit that limit the motor's draw to 30 amps. This unit's component cannot handle the advertised power and should not be purchased for any circuit that requires 30 amps.

Bought this to control a 48V DC Spindle Motor on a CNC machine... Worked awesome! Measured the RPM before and after with NO noticeable differences. The LED output display screen shows a percentage rather than a direct voltage reading which I liked better. The unit has a large aluminum heat sink as part of its case. At the same time the speed control unit was installed in a plastic enclosure an SSR DC relay was added and switched on/off via the control software.The mounting tabs on the plastic bezel of the speed control are quite stiff and fragile. Ended up removing all four of them after one broke off trying to get it into the plastic project case. Did some re-engineering and fabricated a couple of mounts to secure the bezel to the top of the project case. Worked out very well and in the end much easier to install and wire.Great value for the money!

This unit worked very well of me, but took a bit to realize how the switch operated. It is one push and stays on, then have to push again to stop it. Did not realize that at first so just a caution depending on what you are trying to operate with it. I mounted it into a control box and worked out very nicely, but the tabs to lock in place are fragile, so make sure the hole is big enough and you take extra caution when mounting or dismounting it.
