We used it all summer in our outside shower with great results. Water temp easy to adjust. Love it.

I had an earlier version that started to malfunction, this was cheaper than calling a repair man. It plugged right in to my old system. Bought this controller to replace a lightning damaged Pro model and found it easy to install. Works great!

Sadly after probably millions of dollars of product development, they don't feel the need to include proper instructions. We've called their support number several times and apparently they can't be bothered.

I also just purchased this product because it said that it is expandable to 16 zones. This was the MAIN reason I purchased it. When it arrived, I was disappointed to see that it only has 4 zones and CAN be expanded if you purchased more modules. The description is misleading. I would not have purchased this model if the description were correct because it would now double the price with the additional module purchases.

It is good but thought it was already able to do more than 4 stations. Had to buy another module to add the fifth station

This is a wonderfully executed controller, with the modular expandable design a master stroke. The only criticism I have is that the wiring instructions proved to be nebulous if not downright erroneous. Even a professional irrigation installer was confused by the verbiage regarding the Common and Master Valve wire positions. In the case of my system, at least, the instructions proved to be reversed from what they should've been.

I replaced one 6 Zone and two 4 Zone RB controllers with this 1600 plus two Expansion Modules (12 Zones). There is room in the unit for a total of 4 modules - 16 zones. Minor savings but it also eliminated two transformers sucking power 24/7. It was like upgrading from Coach to First class.A sturdy mounting plate is included. Attach it to the wall and slip the unit on. No messing with a template or screw head alignments. A locking screw installed through the interior secures the unit.Gone were the fussy little screw terminals. The bottom third of this unit is open space for the wires. The connections are push in, very easy with the solid core wire generally used for sprinklers. One of my zones has two valves and both wires went into the terminal easily and securely. I had three Common wires so used a wire nut and a short stub of stranded wire as there is only one Common terminal in the controller. Stranded wire went in easily. NOTE: Installation Guide states the unit will operate 3 valves or 2 valves and a Master Valve concurrantly.Programming is straight forward. A 9V battery allows you to program the unit with the face panel off. You can take it in and do the work on the couch if you like. The date, time and programs are stored in non-volatile memory and remain without the battery or electric power. There are 4 programs available with the D program able to run concurrent to A/B/C for low flow drip zones. Each program can have 8 start times but I can't imagine needing that many. The LED display is a nice size. Programing days to water uses the day name, not a 1-7 number. With the addition of sensors or location, you can get into some very amazing programs and control. I didn't find the need for such but the manual and installation guide are available on the web site if you want to take a look.
