These cables seem well made and the protective cover is nice. I couldn't find this length in stores.

This steel cable is likely going to be a strong deterrent to the folks filling my recycle bin ( with non-recyclables!) when I’m not looking. It’s making me so upset that I decided to take drastic measures to prevent it. Enter this 5’ kinky steel cable and a massive padlock to suite. Only problem is that the cable though it is 5’ in length, acts as though it is barely 4’ because, try as I might, the cable won’t unlink and stretch to measure 5’ so… I bought another one and set it up today in a different configuration than I had originally planned. I have a large recycle bin so I put cable #1 under the steel cross bar in front of the bin the passed one end into the other so I could stretch it to the top of the bin. Then I took cable #2 and passed it behind the centre “hinge” so that each end meets on top. Then I had to pull with all the power I could muster to make all three meet at the padlock which barely accepted three ends but, with a little struggle everything fits together on top[ of the bin and I didn’t have to drill the bin. I challenge anyone to pull these cables apart by stretching them out more than they are. Ha!

I have it connected to a Bike that looks new but is 50 years old in '24! That said, it's been all over the US and to Japan and back...so I suppose it's worth protecting. Now, this cable is heavy, but with "Heavy" comes more cable and more protection I figure. The curled up part is a bit of a struggle initially, but after forcing it straight for a moment or two, it relaxed enuf to be threaded thru the Bike. I am using a Kryptonite Lock I've had stored for a few years and the 2 of them make an awesome combo and a bit heavy but not an issue. I did buy the 5' length which seemed "short" but after forcefully uncurling it a few times it relaxed enuf to be useable for my needs. A winner compared to others I ordered/returned or considered in local Bike Shops. Recommended.

Got this to secure around a catio since I live in the city and the catio is on wheels. It was a perfect solution for what I needed. It is sturdy and seems well made. The plastic coating will help protect the wood. You will need a fairly large padlock to fit around this cable as it is thick.

Unlike the four footers we bought these have held up so far but to be safe we will be making adjustments so that they do not come apart on the loop portion as well.
