And that purpose is many many things including throwing a weight over a tree branch, pull up a rope, climb the tree and trim branches. It is very flexable by the way, buy it -you'll like it.

worked ok as a throw rope, but got pretty roughed up, it will be good for a few jobs, I would not purchase again tho.

I got this throw line from Weaver to set my climbing rope in some trees to be removed. I tied it to a Petzl throw bag and works perfectly. Plenty long. Threw it to the highest branch I could reach. Still had extra rope. Very slick coating slides easily through branches but stays tied to bag. Strong as well, Only thing to be aware of is to be careful how you unwind it the first time. I rushed it and ended up having to untangle it for 10 minutes. And by 10, I mean 20... Happy with purchase

Lightweight, strong, slippery, and resists tangles & knots. This line goes up into trees well and slides through branches much better than line not designed for that purpose.If you do tree work often you probably already own a product like this but my homeowner use I never thought I needed it enough buy any; now that I have it I'm glad I do and will loan to others to make more use of it.

I use this with a throw weight to shoot high (sometimes 80 feet) over limbs and then pull 80 feet of arborist rope over the limb. By the time you pull that rope up and over the limb you are lifting and pulling almost twice that amount of rope, so not an insignificant weight and this line has never failed me. More importantly, it never catches on limbs or in brambles, etc.Not cheap, but good product for value. Strongly recommend if you need to do projects like this very often.

Needed to cut down some large trees, which necessitated getting guide lines high up. This product is normally used with an arborist canon. I did not have one, so instead i used a slingshot and fishing line. Once the fishing line was up, i then tied this rope to the fishing line and pulled this over. Once this rope was over, i was then able to attach and pull up a much larger guide line to take down the tree. This line is snag less, glides easily over branches, and is strong enough to be able to pull a much larger rope without any deflection in the line. Fishing line alone will not work as it gets caught on the tree branches when pulling a heavier rope, and can cut you badly.

Liking the throw line so far. Been tossing the throw bag at tree branches 25-60 ft in the air and pulled up 3 outdoor extension cords and 18 sets of Christmas lights. After 30+ throws, it's holding up great. Just a little bit of scuffing where I tie the knot. It keeps fairly clean even when it hits dirt.I've paired this line with and it's been working great! The line itself hasn't gotten caught in branches. The line is super light and doesn't weigh down my throws at all. I can do spinning underhand toss or overhand lobs.Before I put down the investment for this throw line, I shopped around for cheaper alternatives, but I have to say, I'm happy that I bought this. It feels pretty optimized for its purpose. You aren't going to find another rope that works better for the dollar.
