This does exactly what it says it will do. Provides a little metal roof to keep sun, rain, snow and all kinds of stuff off the lens and out of the picture ruining the video. Works for shallow cameras and also long enough for bullet cameras. Installs super easy and held up in the limited Ohio snow we had this year. Did this review after waiting 5 months to make sure. No signs of rust or wear. It just works.

I was frustrated with my outdoor security cameras shorting out in the rain and snow. After adding solar panels, the problem persisted, so I searched for a solution. This cover is perfect for the ring camera I have out by the alley. I installed it last night and then it rained, and instead of having a blurry, wet lens for hours, I had crystal clear video because the camera stayed totally dry.The only thing that would be nice is if the tabs with the screw holes were angled inward instead of outward. It would have fit perfectly on the dogeared end of a fence board, but because the tabs are outwards, it's much to big to fit right at the top. No big deal, I realize that fence installations are probably not what they had in mind.Anyway, this thing is a really sturdy, thick plate of aluminum, and is absolutely going to stand up to any heat, cold or wet weather that we encounter, and help protect the camera.

I ordered this to go over my outdoor WiFi security camera that I use to look at game at a deer feeder. It is sturdy and is easy to install with four #10 by 3/4" round head wood screws. Since I mounted this on a 4x4" post, the side screws were too wide for the post so I just used the middle two screws and it still feels very secure. It keeps the sun/rain off the camera but most importantly, it keeps the birds off the camera and doing their business there.

I have numerous security cameras all around my home and property. There are many mature trees near the house so on those windy days/nights when storms move through, debris comes down. No more getting the ladder out and climbing up to readjust the camera. It is serving its intended purpose of simply saving me work. Installation was easy with the supplied parts. I pained this one to not be so obvious since the black didn't match anything. I also think it does not have to be as long. I would have also preferred a heavier gauge steel. For those 3 reasons, I knocked off a point to 4 stars. Regardless, it will do a fine job.
