Contrary to some negative reviews this stand is good. No, it's not what was made in 1920 but it's totally sufficient. It is made by Weller. It's metal and the weight is decent. Regarding the angle of the holder it was easily bent upward to provide more space between the iron and the sponge and prevent any hot part from touching the holder.

False advertisement. Not the Weller stand pictured on Amazon. It's heavy enough to not dump over but the holder is in the way of the base with the sponge. I guess that's what you get for 28 bucks. Disappointing to say the least. Not even worth my effort to send back.

I wanted to replace an actual WELLER soldering iron stand on the bench that had served it's time. So I ordered the "Weller" item. IT IS NOT WELLER as you can see. It is too light compared to the real WELLER. It's spring is to long which throws off the balance of the stand. And the barrel sleeve is way too large so iron doesn't seat properly.

Works well for my weller solder tool. It’s not too heavy but it is very sturdy and doesn’t tip over. Easy to use, and looks decent enough for a glass studio.good price for how sturdy it is!
