Westcott

Easier Speedlight Navigation

Shoot faster with the only touchscreen speedlight, designed to control the FJ Wireless Flash System. Use it on-camera as both a speedlight and transmitter, or position it off-camera. Its metal hot shoe mount ensures compatibility with Sony cameras.

Westcott

Flash and Transmitter in One

The FJ80 II features a built-in 2.4 GHz transceiver, allowing it to function as both a flash and transmitter when mounted on-camera. It controls FJ400 and FJ200 strobes, FJ-XR receivers, and off-camera FJ80 units from the metal hot shoe. Off-camera, it acts as a client speedlight, triggered by an on-camera FJ80, FJ-X2m, or FJ-X3 Wireless Trigger.

Westcott

Unrivaled Color Consistency

The FJ80 delivers 5500K (±200K) color stability across its 9-stop range with 0.1 or 1.0 stop increments. It ensures consistent color with the FJ Flash Series and offers improved wireless control for up to 16 groups on 31 channels from 328' (100m).

Westcott

TTL, High-Speed Sync, and More

The FJ80 strobe offers a full-color LCD touchscreen with Manual and TTL Flash Modes, HSS up to 1/8000s, and Front and Rear Curtain Sync. It supports controlling 16 groups across 31 channels, Automatic Memory Recall, Group and Channel Assignment, Group Exposure Compensation, Continuous Capture at 20 FPS, TTL to Manual Equivalent (as Client), modeling lamp settings, and more. Firmware is upgradeable via USB-C.

Westcott

20% Longer Battery & Faster Shooting

The FJ80 II delivers 500+ full-power flashes per charge with a quick recycle time of 0.05 to 1.5 seconds. Its removable 11.1V 1600mAh lithium polymer battery recharges in just 2 hours. Self-monitoring heat protection ensures safe, fast shooting during extended use, while the energy-efficient LED modeling lamp offers auto-adjust and independent output control.

Articulating Portable Flash with Versatile Mounting

Tilt, rotate, and mount for complete flexibility with the FJ80’s articulating flash head, which offers 360° horizontal and 90° vertical pivot ranges. Mount it off-camera using the cold shoe or the built-in 1/4”-20 female thread. For a free-standing setup, use the included shoe stand, which also features a 1/4”-20 female thread for easy attachment to most light stands without extra hardware.

Been using this light along with a pair of the bigger Westcott studio flashes. The interface is intuitive, I have two extra batteries, and it just works in TTL or manual very nicely with the Sony specific trigger. My only con is the trigger itself. It’s kind of cheap, and the buttons sometimes need a little wiggle to respond. The flash itself is great.

I already had a full complement of Godox flash equipment that lacked a 400Ws strobe. After much research I came to really like the color touch screen of the Westcott. To tell the truth I never really learned well how to use the menus on the Godox equipment. I stumbled through them and achieved my goal.Even after my research I still couldn't answer a couple of questions.1) Why does the Standby button cycle through green, white, and black just to pause the flash.2) Where is the Mode button?3) How do I turn HSS on/offI called Westcott, a human answered! She answered those questions in less than two minutes. One big question remained. Will this system work on my Sony a6700? That particular camera body isn't in the Westcott compatibility list. (The Sony a6500 is listed). I poked around the internet seeing if I could find someone with a fl80 II S speedlight with an FJ-X3s trigger but couldn't find anyone. So I ordered the Westcott FJ80 II S and an FJ-X3s trigger to try it for myself. If that experiment failed (meaning the Westcott system doesn't work with a Sony a6700) I would sadly revert back to the Godox system. But it worked!I have a Sony A74 full frame camera, and a Sony a6700 camera. For certain shoots I have a shoulder harness to carry both cameras. (The a6700 is so good it is a match for the A74). So I also tested te Westcott equipment on the full frame camera. All is well.My next move is to order a second FJ-X3s trigger, an FJ400s strobe, and a Manny Ortise beauty dish.I like the lithium batteries that will last a whole shoot. I have had AA batteries fail to make the whole shoot and had to change batteries in the middle of it all - Uggg).I'm not saying the Westcott system will work on your Sony a6700 just because it worked for me. But at least you have one data point to go with.

Was having problems getting the flash to work. I believe the problem was it wasn't completely set in the shoe, though it looked like it was, I took it off and reattached it then it work. They need to improve the connection of the Dome, just a little bump and it falls off.

Works fine dome magnet is horrible. But found out that it comes off and you can lock the dome onto the front of the flash with the four locking tabs
