The instructions are the worst I’ve ever seen. Does not help with installation at all.

The brush guard in general is very nice and heavy duty. I would have given it a five star. If you don't consider yourself a professional mechanic don't even attempt to install this. The instructions were not written by anyone that has installed one, there's steps missing, very poor pictures, lots of brackets that you're told to install loosely but are never told when to tighten and torque them. Two small bolts have to be modified because there is a weld right where part of it sits. The bumper that you have to remove is very cumbersome and has to be test fitted so you can figure out what bolts to tighten before and after it's permanent installation. I'm a 35 year retired aircraft mechanic, welder and fabricator and this thing gave me a fit.

I bought this to protect my new truck and mount my winch. The guard itself seems to be of good quality, my issue lies in two parts.The first is with the instructions. The instructions lack enough detail to make the assembly clear. If you are mechanically inclined, and take your time, you can figure it out but it can be frustrating. Second, you are removing factory tow hooks to install the winch plate. They sell tow hooks that mount to the winch plate however, they are $30 ea and sold individually. I would not recommend pulling on the guard itself so you pretty much need the tow hooks.If wasn't pressed for time I would have ordered and waited for a replacement bumper, rather than a grill guard. The weight of the guard and the winch plate combined with the factory bumper, exceed several aftermarket bumpers with integral winch mounts.
