Although listed a a 5" vice, it should be listed a a light duty vice. Weighs half as much as the older 5" vise and not as sturdy.

The cardboard packaging was shredded when it was delivered. My impression was it’s smaller than I expected, but mostly cast heavy metal. What could be damaged. I put it aside while I finished rebuilding my barn roof and didn’t use it for over a month.Then I put it to its first test, holding a a bent 1/4 inch steel pin i needed to straighten. When I tightened down hard, it wouldn’t hold. so I tightened down harder. At that point, the cast iron jaw of the vice fractured in two. Not what I expected. I’m 72, normal build, and it just fell a part as I torqued down.Maybe it would be good for holding a popsicle while you work on something else. Otherwise, I wouldn’t buy it.

Much better quality than I expected at the low price point. Sturdy, The only thing that I didn't like was the card board shipping container it was shredded when recieved. Quality product terrible packaging. I would buy again.
