This part seems of a good quality, and it was a perfect fit for my Jenn-Air dishwasher. It does look different than the original part, but that's only the side that you don't see anyway. Besides, it works really well. I had to adjust the angle of the strike plate 'tongue' by bending it with my hands, so it was aligned with the latch in the door (I had to do it only once and it still holds, no 'memory' in it).

Product worked for replacing existing latch which was causing dishwasher to go through cycles but never spray water. Further on the model in subject line the diagnostics will never report an error for this type of issue. 15 minute job.

The original Whirlpool latch is a bad design and is known to fail. Whirlpool redesigned the latch so the replacement latch will not look like the original but it will fit perfectly.It comes with a striker plate. Make sure to replace the striker plate as well since this is a new design.In the attached picture, the new one is on the left and the original one is on the right.The latch is very easy to install. It took me about 10 minutes. Video instructions are available on YouTube. Just search for the PN in YouTube.

Item worked well for me for months now. Was having issues with existing latch on our dishwasher and this fixed all my problems with it. My only complaint was the instructions provided. Came with piece of paper that indicated to go to specific website for instructions, but had issues with getting instructions from website. I did a web search for info how to change dishwasher latch and found videos online that explained what to do so that seemed like a better guide than paper instructions anyways. Easy to change once I found video guide what to do.

Worked for my Maytag.Just make sure you replace both pieces the lock(on the door) and the catch.I tried using the old catch and it just was not tight enough to hold door closed so unit didn't run correctly.Once i replaced the silver metal catch, i didn't have any problems.Worked great. Item comes with both lock and catch.

I replaced the latch/switch on a Kenmore dishwasher. The old part failed, allowing me to open the dishwasher while it was running, but did not trigger the cycle to pause. The new part looks different but works perfectly. The parts is an upgraded version of the old one that failed. Price and shipping are slightly cheaper going through amazon rather than another online appliance parts store.

the original picture showed this with the latch and striker. it did not include the striker.somewhat disappointed.
