I have used these same items before, and just purchased more. I have both a generator and the main engine exhaust pipes in a vessel's engine room wrapped with this. Overlap is about 1/3rd on both 2.0 inch stainless pipe (12ft long) and 5" stainless piping. The smaller pipe is very warm to the touch, but doesn't burn a person. I don't recommend hanging onto the main engine exhaust because it is running at 850 degrees under the wrap, but the wrap does a great job in retaining the heat. I applied it dry, and encountered no itching associated with other brands of wrap. Would I buy it again? Absolutely yes.
