So here's the deal. This is one of those things that you didn't realize you needed until you got it. Have been using a bell candle extinguisher and it would cause smoke (Just recently learned that the bell ones are for taper candles) and blowing them out does the same thing. So this happened to come up on my newsfeed and well, I looked it up on amazon and ordered it and it works like a charm. It's easy to use and the candle doesn't smoke and it coats the candle wick in wax and makes it easy to light again. It's used to dip and then lift the wick straight up. Like someone else said in their review, sure you can use something you have at home, but this is nice to look at and looks nice displayed. I also have a wick trimmer that I keep with it in a glass container. Nice dipper for your candles

Here's the deal. I didn't have to buy this specialized tool. You could essentially use whatever you wanted to dip your wick and extinguish your candle. However, after getting sucked into Bath and Body Works candles, I realized I had a lot to learn in terms of candle maintenance and care... enter the wick dipper. For $8, I guess it is a fair-ish price but probably could have found it cheaper in a brick and mortar store had I not been lazy and looked. It is thick enough and sturdy. Comes in a nice little package, which doesn't matter overall of course. I give it 5 stars overall because it does what it was designed to do for a low cost and as long as you don't lose it, will last a long time being metal.

this is perfect and a must have for all candle lovers. i don’t blow out my candles and used to just cover the flame with the candle lid, but this tool is much better for the wicks.

So glad I bought this wick dipper. It came nicely wrapped and arrived quickly. I didn’t know there were such things since I’ve always used the end of a pencil to put out my candles. This dipper is elegant, lightweight and perfect for preventing smoldering wicks.

Someone recommended this style of candle snuffer. I thought they were crazy but this one has a cute design so tried it and love it!

This is really great product. Never new they existed till I watched a YouTube video on how to put out a candle without creating smoke and smell. You can also lift the wick back up if you have more candle to burn at another time.
