I ordered this to scoop the draust and ash out of my meatl melting system and it holds up to the heat wonderfuly and it is easy to clean off any left on metal particles.

bought this to skim the slag off my son's smelting. It is a little big for the crucible he uses, but it is working great so far.

Works great, sturdy but a little hard on the hand. I will tape or dip the handle to make it more comfortable. A great stainless spoon though

This spoon is awesome, I just used it for 3 batches of all grain beer. It is very sturdy and easy to clean. While mixing the grain with the water the spoon did not bend or flex at all working very well even for the thicker grain bed. The length and spoon size was perfect for my 5 gallon batch, but should also work great when I step up to a 10 gallon batch.I am not sure if it would be long enough for a 15-20 batch you might need a longer handle when you make that much.

My husband got into homebrewing last year, and in passing asked if I could find a "really long metal spoon" for his brewing stuff. I did a quick search, found this (21" version), and thought it was too good to be true. This spoon is very inexpensive, even with shipping. But I figured what the heck I'd give it a try, and if it turned out to be cheap and not work, well, my husband could go find a spoon himself. ;)I was very pleasantly surprised at how solid this spoon is. And it's well-made. And it works GREAT. My husband has zero complaints about its performance. It works perfectly with his big kettle, and it's easy to clean too (dishwasher safe).The only negative for the long spoon is it's challenging to find a good spot for it in the kitchen. So it lives with the other homebrew supplies in the man cave downstairs. But other than that, it's been perfect!
