So, I've never used a "spy" camera before but was pleased with the ease of set-up. Although the User Manual is rather brief, it proved adequate to get the needed software app (via QR) downloaded, as well as the camera connected to my phone and internet. I had the camera working in a couple minutes.Later that day, leave the house in the car, my wife and I witnessed via the phone our 10-month-old pup hop onto the forbidden couch and take a 3+ hour nap.The image quality is adequate, though grainy when zoomed in. There's a feature to listen to sound, but when our dog barked at something (delivery person at front door), the barks were very distorted (he was fairly close to the camera at that time). There's a microphone icon in the app, but it is grayed out (not supported on this camera but would be great to command the dog off of the couch). Also, there's a slot for a memory stick (not included) to record images.Overall, for the cost, I'm impressed with this little camera and will use it as needed to keep an eye on things. This is also something I can take with me on travel to keep an eye on my hotel room.

If you've used security cameras like this before it will be easy to set up. For new or novice users, it might take a little time or effort.You first need to download an app to your phone, then connect directly to the WiFi of the camera. Once connected, you can change the settings on the camera so that you can use a local WiFi. This process isn't terribly difficult, but might be confusing for those without any technical skills. The instructions are only mildly helpful.I have another camera already that uses the same phone app, so it's nice that both cameras show up in the app and I can control both from there.The camera has both motion and sound detection as well as an infrared light for dark conditions. It can record locally to a 32Gb microSD card but the memory card is NOT included. You can live stream without a memory card inserted.Operating time is a bit over an hour unless you have it plugged into a power source for constant charging. One thing I don't like about it is that the camera turns on the moment you plug it in to charge, and if you turn it off there's no power or charge indicator light. You really don't know when it's charging or fully charged.The kit includes a nice little magnetic mount that can be attached with an adhesive to the camera. It's a swivel mount which gives a pretty good range of positions. They also include a charging cable and the instruction booklet (of course). It comes packaged in a nice box, making it suitable for gifting.I'm pretty happy with the camera overall. These are handy at the campground, where you can set it up indiscreetly with motion/sound detection to keep an eye on your campsite when you make a run into town, or to get a view outside your camper at night if you hear something outside. It's also helpful when lining up your trailer hitch when backing up, although the time delay makes that a little tricky.

I'm conflicted on this item. It took me quite a while to figure out how to use it. The camera works pretty well, but it lights up when it's plugged in so it's not quite that "hidden". I also was planning to use it more for like security, but then I started thinking; why would I want it to be hidden? I think half the value of a security camera is so that the potential burglar (or who/whatever) might see it and be deterred and move along. I can see the point of a hidden camera too, but I don't really know that I like that idea much. I think it's valid to have cameras on in your home, but I feel like you should let people know if they may be recorded, and I'm guessing there are laws around this, even though I'm unfamiliar and this could vary by state or country. I just don't know that I'm really going to use this much or at all and I don't really think it works that well if it's specifically supposed to be "hidden" or "spy", but since it does work, I'm still giving it 3 stars.

So, I just got the camera and it’s not as small as it’s made out to be and there are lights on it. If it’s a hidden spy camera it doesn’t hide very well with lights on all the time.

This is a fairly typical mini 'spy' camera. It performs reasonably well and is fairly well-built and designed. Usage is pretty simple - you access the camera via the (app store) downloadable app, and communicate with it across WiFi. Setup is fairly standard ( 1. Download App, 2. Connect to device via app via it's own WiFi, 3. Configure device to connect to local WiFi, 4. Connect via Internet).It has a micro-SD card slot for local storage (no card included) and has a relatively short battery life. The unit comes with a small base that has an adhesive pad on one end, and connects to the camera on the other via a magnet. This enables you to pop the camera on and off the stand quickly and easily. Conversely you could keep the camera plugged in via USB all the time (no charger is included, either).These are all very standard features among the genre of mini surveillance cameras. That stated, it's a bit overpriced in this very competitive field.
