Both adapter cables had shorts in the wiring. Just received a speaker to test, both are bad. Too late to return.

Plugged these into my studio PA and used them for less than 10 hours. One connector started failing, then the other went out not too long after. I could get them to barely work if I wiggles them around, or help them up a certain way, but they would continue to go out intermittently after that as well.Was very disappointed that I had to purchase different connectors that actually work.

Speakon end is fine, but the 1/4" female end is loose (does not make tight contact with male 1/4" cable) resulting in intermittent connection. Tried a few different 1/4" cables to be sure. Both adaptors have same issue, so it appears to be a problem in the design of the 1/4" female connector. I hope this saves you some time/hassle.
