The Adirondack chair ottoman is an outdoor lounge chair footrest with wide resting surface, a beautiful slatted design, and a legs that fold under the footstool for easy storage. The Adirondack chair ottoman is a footstool designed for outdoor lounging. Why is it called Adirondack?
That designer, Irving Wolpin, with many other designers modified the original Westport outdoor adiirondack style.
Eventually, the slatted design became well-known as Adirondack after the Adirondack Mountains near where Thomas Lee originally created it.

My tiny patio is decorated with a coastal design as I live close to OC in Md. I love to read/look at the traffic go by and get a little sun as the patio gets a lot of BRIGHT sun until about 1pm. I get tired of hanging my legs down /swinging them over the chair legs so this year I decided to look for an outdoor foot stool. Frankly, most everything was an ottoman... something larger than I needed and that basically was a piece of 'patio furniture'. When I came across this I knew it would fit the bill exactly and it was the PERFECT coastal color. I was thrilled when I opened the box to see I had made the right decision. It was easy to put together... in minutes. Perfect size and color. And quite comfortable. The only small negative is that after a day or two, I noticed that both screws were not completely screwed in... they stuck out about 1/4 on the'outside' of the stool. Now, when I put it together, it seemed tight and secure. Admittedly, I didn't check to see if the screws were indeed screwed completely in. I tried to fix it with the tools I had as I'd thrown away the tools from the kit. With the tools I had, I could not resolve the issue. I remembered that I DO have one of those 'L' shaped tools at my Mom's, so I'll get that and try to fix it. If I can't, I may place tape over the protruding screws. I'm 63 and just don't want to take a chance of scraping my legs against them. This could just be my fault. At any rate... it's one of my BEST purchases from Amazon!!
