I’m a 43 year old beginner violin student. I had shoulder issues prior, but I definitely noticed it when starting violin. I don’t experience it anymore with this shoulder rest, it’s very comfortable. My instructor did say that it might not be good for someone with a short neck because even its lowest setting is quite high. I definitely don’t need to adjust it higher or use the extenders, lol! She was concerned about that with me, but said if it’s comfortable, that’s what matters. I feel like my violin is getting a better sound too over my old rest, but maybe it’s in my head! My only complaint is that it sometimes comes off. Because I’m new, I’m scared to secure it too tightly, so it’s probably a me issue and not the product. Recommend!

The best shoulder rest I've ever used! I've tried several, from super cheap to more expensive than the Wolf Forte Secundo. The Secundo is perfect for me. I have it set very low on my shoulder and very high on the chest end--I also twisted the entire unit a bit to fit my body better. Makes playing much easier. I own several violins, and I'm ditching the other shoulder rests and getting a few more of these.

My daughter's been playing violin for 10 years and last used a Wolf Shoulder Rest about 6 years ago. She had switched to a different brand but as she's grown it wasn't giving her the comfort and position she and her teacher were wanting. A top-rated shoulder rest, Wolf is a brand you see a lot. We were never sold on it being "the one". But, as she's transitioned into a 3/4 size this one is the one that works best. She likes that it's highly adjustable and flexible. In addition, it fits well in her case.

These come with various standoffs to adjust the height, and work very well. If you do not really need the folding feature, I would get the "primo" version. We have both, and I think the folding one is a little more fussing to set up, especially for my 7th grader.

The one thing i LOVE about this SR is that it's almost infinitely adjustable. The metal that has the foam on it is a thin, but not too thin, sheet that can be bent and shaped to your shoulder. With most other rest, your stuck with the shape it is. It took me a week or two to get it shaped and the length positioned just right. The feet have two adjusters. One for adjusting the length, and the other for fine tuning. The popular Kun SR padding is only about 1/2 as wide, so the wolf as a very decent amount of padding. The SR does swivel but not loosely. it has a semi-snug swivel that wont swivel on its own. When you bend the SR to fit your shoulder the overall length will shorten but there is a length adjuster rod. It can be a bit hard to adjust but then again you wouldnt want it to be so easily adjustable to the point where it could move while putting it on. the feet grip pretty well but sometimes they can pop off. If i could i would only deduct 1/2 a star but most of the time its due to me not making sure its securely on the first time. to fit it securely, you just need to push the feet down on the body and everything should be fine.I definitely recommend this SR since it seems to be the most adjustable one out there.

First, it is the first rest that has worked for me. As with any rest, it takes time to find the best position. This one can be adjusted many ways so keep working at it. I like the one-way swivel action the rest has; It allows you to create a "flexible" rest or a fixed one, depending on which way you turn it (I prefer swivel). It is comfortable and appears durable. I also love that you can adjust the height in the regular manner or you can use a "micro-adjuster" to really zero in on the ideal configuration. The negative: the use of a set screw on an adjusting rod is acceptable but not ideal as it will eventually loosen
