I got the smaller version so it'll be easier to light the face in photo shoots (and to have multiple subjects in the frame). I got the one without the lacey ribbon since it's more versatile for various types of witches.I appreciate the velvet and the ruched/wrinkled texture. The wire in the top is also good—you can shape it almost however you see fit. There's a string in the sweatband for adjusting the size to fit your head.The folds in the brim upon arrival might take some time or steam to work out. That's my worry with this. I'm sure it'll be okay even if they don't, but I'm really going for spectacular, not just okay.So overall, I'm happy with the visual texture this hat provides, but I wouldn't order this expecting something luxurious.

I recently received this "Women's Masquerade Ruched Witch Hat Oversized Witches Velvet Hats Wide Brim Party Halloween Accessory" and it's a very nicely made piece that will be used over and over during spooky season. This oversized witch hat is so striking and I love the way it has the built in wrinkles. (TIL the definition of "ruched," which means "gathered into folds or pleats, or sewn so that fabric hangs in folds.")The material itself is soft, though I suppose that doesn't matter much since not a lot of time is typically spent caressing a hat. Still, the velvet fabric will blend well with "high end" witch costumes with silk, satin, velvet, and lace just as easily as when going for a more "witch of nature" look with raggedy, draping fabrics for the rest of the costume. The brim is huge, so this may not be a great hat to use if you'll need a lot of mobility, but it's such an impressive silhouette from a distance that I can't bring myself to recommend the smaller size.After seeing the hat, I had to check out some of the other products being sold by JEGERMIG and I'm very impressed with their costume pieces. From beautifully designed witch hats to fantastic looking cloaks (and accessories), I'll definitely be re-checking out their selections as spooky season gets closer. So many choices and nothing I looked at seemed ridiculously overpriced. Based on the quality of the hat alone, I'm happy recommending this product to others, but even more so after browsing their store.This witch hat was priced at $14.99 when I placed my order. It seems like a bargain to me and I'm more than happy recommending it to others.
