It sure if we just got a bad unit but the first time I used it the tip I was using melted and busted off. I would think that the metal used in the tips would have a high enough temp rating to not melt. Now the screw in part of the tip is busted off in the unit so I have to try and get that out. I wish I would have tried it when I first got it 8 months ago so I could return it for another unit.

I bought this for my daughter to try. She likes it, but said it gets very hot. She will probably need to wear a glove.

Overall ok for the price, but I feel that it would not last long.Reasons:1. It seems that tips are from low quality material. After using burner for few minutes, the tips bend. See photos attached. They are still usable and there are a lot of tips, but sooner or later I guess it will be hard to use the burner. I would need to find spare tips or replace the burner.2. There is no temperature control in my model. You can easily over burn the wood, especially if you are a beginner. Also maybe lower temperature could help to mitigate the #1 issue.So, the burner is usable but it seems it has a limited resource. And soon I'll need to search for a new one... :(I took 1 star for the missing temperature control and 2 stars for the quality of the tips.
