This rope type seal is excellent for filling the gap between my fireplace insert and brick surround. I had gaps anywhere between 1/4 - 5/8 inch letting in drafts. Easily cut to length and squeezed into the gaps.No more drafts. Since the rope is fireproof, perfect for the application.

I recently received a camping wood stove. And, for some reason, they did not provide any seal around the door and the glass in that door was just floating without a seal. This was perfect for that job.The rope is a very uniformly made product with no wide or narrow spots making this fully usable with no waste. (I have had ropes like this in the past where portions could not be used due to wide and narrow places along the rope.)The product is well made and easy to form with just the right amount of stretch. Turning a 90* corner the rope did not give me any trouble.It does not include any glue so you will need to purchase some high heat glue. The glass on mine did not need glue but the door does. It does include tape that is meant to seal the ends and keep them from fraying. I am not too sure as to whether this tape will hold up or not. It seems pretty flimsy but I could be wrong.Basically, for the price, this product exceeds my expectations and I am quite pleased.
