I have seen a real pomegranate tree, so I do think that is part of the reason I find these so fake looking, but honestly, if you have ever seen a pomegranate at the grocery store, you know their skin is strong, dried out and tough looking. These look like large, semi juicy rose hips, not pomegranate enough.However, I do think the beauty of pomegranates has always been in the crosssection, where the arils (did you know that is what the seeds/fruits are called; arils) are revealed, in all their garnet treasure beauty.I guess the leaves look okay, but a little sparse and weak. Pomegranates weigh a lot so their branches were rather sturdy, these look flimsy enough to double as a creekside reed.Also, the colors are off, pomegrantes don't have an orangey gold top, they are a beet juice stained pinkish red or a dark brick red, never amber. Also, the fruits are too smooth and the branches are ill defined and mono colored brown, they looks cheap and fake.Anyways, I think I can salvage these with a little paint if I decide to use them.The stems are sturdy with easily bent wire for attaching to your craft. I accidentally stepped on one of the stems and the pomegranate didn't deform and none of the leaves were dislodged, so they are resilient and would be a long lasting addition to an outdoor wreath or garland.
