This here horn has GOT to be the best thing out there. It sounds like a policeman's whistle and is super loud. Awesome!!!! I frequently ride at night and despite the fact that I am usually lit up like a Christmas tree moving down the bike lane, people will run stop lights, pull out in front of me, or misjudge how fast I am going and try to get in front of me. But no more! With a sharp, authoritative TWEET, a driver now hears, brakes, looks all around them for the traffic cop -- and by that time, I have escaped death yet again. It is an amazing little gadget, easy to put on and take off for use on other rides, and you just push the little button to blow! If a driver is looking the other way down the street and hasn't seen you, just give a light, quick press for a tiny, short warning tweet or a long, angry TWEEEEEET in response to the redneck truck's angry horn with half his tire edging into the bike lane. At any rate, this little TWEETY has saved my life MANY times. This is the ticket to get someone's attention. I got one for all my bikes and my little scooter.

Was initially fairly happy with the horn, as it's quite loud, the remote button works nicely, and the sound gets pedestrians' and cars' attention (though it's a bit shocking, so some people just freeze in place...). The rubber band handlebar clamp system is not the greatest-- had to use some tape to properly mount both the horn and the button on my mountain bike's handlebar.Worked fine for a couple of weeks, but after a big storm, the horn started working only intermittently, petering off after a couple seconds. Then after a few days, it died entirely. Waterproofing seems to be an issue-- might be fine if you park your bike indoors and never ride in the rain, but otherwise unfortunately a problem.

I got this horn to retrofit a horn tank on a bicycle. It fit very nicely and is a metric buttload louder than the original 'meep-meep!' horn that was made to go in the tank. Now I have my bell for pedestrians and other cyclists and my horn that can be easily heard by car drivers. And the best part, in my opinion, is the convenience of the wired button, handily located within thumb-reach of my right hand, instead of somewhere I'd have to let go of one handlebar in order to use. It really seems a bit counter-intuitive to sacrifice some control over your bike when you're in an emergency situation. But this horn solves that issue. As far as mounting goes, I just used some industrial strength Velcro to mount it inside the horn tank -- so I can easily remove it when I need to change the batteries, et cetera, but it stays put even when I'm taking a kerb. However, if you actually plan on mounting it using the attached rubber band, be warned: it will not last. I've already had to replace the teeny band on the activation button with a zip-tie, and the extra weight of the horn unit, along with the added tautness required of the band to keep the horn secure, will ensure that the band made to attach the horn will have an even shorter life-span.All-in-all, good product with poor mounting hardware. So if you plan on getting this, keep in mind that you will have to find some alternative method of mounting it.

Its very loud and obnoxious, just what you need to get peoples attention. It also works very good for barking dogs, ha they run off like being shot at because of the frequency of this horn. . . Only bad though is the rubber band holders that come with it to hold it to your handle bar, , , "Not" !!! Get a plastic tie, or wire it on cuz the rubber band won't last but a couple of days ok ?Jim Oregon City.

First, this horn never sounded that loud to me and doubt that it could be heard through rolled-up car window. And the attachment straps are made from the LEAST WEATHER-RESISTANT MATERIAL KNOWN TO MAN!!! Seriously, I ended up having to use glue and zip-ties to keep it on. Now, I'm thinking . . . JUNK IT!!!

As it has been mentioned before by other reviewers, this horn is loud enough to attract attention (most of the time, but when it doesn't, it's not the horn's fault). The quality, though, just horrible. Not only the mounting strap broke after a first ride (I've managed to rig it back), but the horn itself died in less than a year. I keep my bike inside, so the horn was exposed to the elements only during the rides. Granted, I ride in any kind of weather, but still... This is just another made-in-China piece of crap.

I really like this "Mega Horn." I was a bit skeptical when I ordered it, but when it came all my worries vanished. This horn is certainly very loud, but that is a good thing. I am a daily commuter to my job about a mile away, and I ride my bike every chance I get. I need to cross a semi-major road to get there, so I always wanted something for assurance that people will see me. The sound this thing makes isn't exactly a horn, but sound more like a reverse alarm (like on vans and busses). An odd thing I found out was that if it was mounted vertically, the sound seemed to pulse, but when horizontal it was a solid tone. Since I mount it horizontally, I get a solid tone. I can chirp it when I'm riding and there's someone oblivious to my presence, and they'll generally move over. When I'm crossing an intersection I am often cut off by those drivers that pull out WAY past the stop line, so I beep this thing a couple times while crossing and it usually gets their attention.I recommend it!On a side note, the rubber material on the button that wraps around the handlebar broke for me, but it was easy to jury-rig a zip-tie, so no problem there.
